In-Development Need squadron beta testers -- ED: Squadron Command Center

Greetings Commanders!

I have developed a web app for Squadrons to use. It is data driven web app, it allows you to view reports, charts, etc. You can compare your in game performance with other commanders in your squadron as well as comparing how your squadron doing with other squadrons.

I am looking for few squadrons who are willing to beta test the app and provide inputs on the site use, language, word choices, features, etc.

If you are not in a squadron but would like to check out the site, you can. Just choose "Ben Dover" squadron, which is a made-up squadron that doesn't exist in the game. You will be automatically granted access to this squadron when you register for a new account.

Below are the screenshots of various part of the site. Some views are available only for squadron owner or senior ranking members. The app is flexible with permission assignments for different users. See below for screenshots for examples. The site is fully functional and features will be added over time. It accepts player journal log files for data parsing as well as EDMC plug-in to upload data automatically to the site while you are playing in the game. Instructions for EDMC plug-in are in the web app under "Player Journal Log".

If you have suggestions of what report to include in the leaderboard or player activities report, please do share! In the meantime, I don't have bug report/tracker set up on github yet, but once I do, I will let you know.

Wow, that looks pretty slick. :) I'm not a squadron player so I'm not useful here, but the app itself looks pretty great. I appreciate the software craft!

You still can use it just for yourself, see your own statistics, compare with others in the made-up Ben Dover squadron. :)

I like the idea, i do have one...... small.... critique though... seems like some assets were used from a another website ;) pihole if im not mistaken. Just some modifications done. :)

I plan to add a functionality that allows you to leave a squadron so that you can switch to another. But in the meantime, let me know which one and I can manually move you. Actually, let me change your account status back to unassigned and you can just join your squadron.

Yes, sort of. Pi.hole actually used the AdminLTE template. That is the basis of the app layout, however, AdminLTE doesn't have a dark theme. So I had to do a lot of customization and used a dark theme bootstrap, made a lot of modification to the original AdminLTE template. I like the dark theme a lot better than the original AdminLTE tho. :)

Yeah, I wanted to include XBox and PS4 users as well, but at this time, I don't know how to get those data imported into the web app. If you have any information about how one go about to get that "frontier data", let me know! I would love to get that working!

Check with the crew that makes EDSM, they found a way to get Xbox data to upload. It takes a PC running alongside the Xbox, but lets me update EDDN while on my console account.

I tried to register but despite numerous attempts I am not receiving my registration token...

Edit, I did get it eventually, albeit a little slow than I would have thought.

Email get sent immediately after you register, so I am guessing it's on gmail's end that got held up with email queue.

I'm trying this out and it looks really promising. Once completed, this could be a fantastic Squadron Management System, especially for leadership to monitor member contributions for promotions and the likes. However, there seems to be one glaring piece of data missing from the dashboard, and that's combat bonds. Contributions to a PMF can be measured through all your various data sets save for turning in bonds. If you could add those figures, it would round out all contributions. The information is indeed stored in our Journal. I will post any bugs I encounter at your GitHub location and suggestions here. I certainly don't want this to get drowned out.

Thank you for the feedback. Someone else have mentioned the same thing about tracking minor factions, etc. It would be nice if you could share your journal files with me so that I can see how it is stored in the journal so that I can parse them properly. I'm on EDCD discord, find me there and we can talk more.

Console players are now supported. I'm working on getting the code pushed onto the beta server at beta.edscc.net. Should be ready for further testing by console players by tonight.

Hmmm, I must have logged in at some point but now I'm stuck in a reset your password loop where I can't actually reset my password. Is there any chance you could remove me and I could re-register?
