Now paying 3250 ARX on it seem even more expensive... even it actually isn't
Which is why you come here, to read all of these positive posts, made by all these positive people.I realize it might be me. I think I am too old to adapt to these new times.
When I go to the new arx store I only feel incredibly annoyed.
At a minimum they should also display the real world price.
But even then... Having to buy these cursed arx packs that are never the exact amount I need to buy the paintjob I want... it irritates me to no end.
I feel cheated. It is a very negative experience for me. And I avoid negative experiences.
You mean, that F.D. will admit that they made a mistake and reverse something? It's very simple, if FD's cosmetics revenue stream falters, the web store will revert to allowing real currencies shopping.
I don't even know why I still reply to posts like this. Anyway, if you think everyone who disagrees with you must be paid for it, you already made sure that people will disagree with you. I realise that this is quite comfortable for people who aren't capable of respecting others, the only question is why you feel the need to talk to us.Frontier is clearly doing NOTHING for their customers, except laying out the one or other money-trap. They play with the addiction, they use every mechanic available to squeeze out their customers, and what do we get for it? No content since 2 years, marketing-blabla and a couple of paid forum posters.
For me it feels like Braben personally beats everyone in the face that has founded this product via Kickstarter.
At least you realised - sometimes I don't notice it left at the top of my intended post....One thing that really annoys me about this new forum is that if you write a great long diatribe of text and then decide that maybe, on reflection, it might be better if you didn't post it after all ... then even days later ... whenever you go back to that thread, your text is all still there in the reply box at the bottom, provocatively saying "go on, send me, you know you want to!".Anyhoo ... it seems the only way I can gid rid of it is to post something else instead - hence this.
Please ignore this post!

Funnily enough, this applies to me also. The pricier, the more "ewwww" I tend to find a paintjob.
I'm very curious though how much the metallic (Chrome, Golden, Iridescent) specials will cost. Presumably top tier (3280 or some such). I think that's when I'll buy an Arx pack, but I will have to be very selective in what I'll be going for. I think the "just add one more paint to the shopping basket" approach I took last year for Midnight Black paints (resulting in a larger bill than I originally planned for...) ain't going to happen again.
Yeah, the Pharao set is great. Have it for the Krait and AspX, no regrets - imo it's one of the best packs ever released as it's so diverse. The Operator paints do indeed look nice - if/when I buy an Arx pack, I'll definitely get a couple of those (the FGS looks pretty neat with it also).Yeah, same here for the most part. My in-game colour theme is red and black. I like the Red Pharaoh scheme where available, and would buy all of the Black Friday ones were it not for the rendering issues (which nobody else seems to notice). Other than that though, I’m happy with basic Earth Red, Tactical Crimson and Tactical Graphite, so the Arx thing is pretty good for me from a purely selfish perspective. Still at odds with it conceptually/morally though.
Most of the more expensive designs are much too garish for me. That said, I do like the recent Operator set for the Mamba. I wish that they made every scheme available for all ships, for those of us who like consistency. That and the Pharaoh ones are the only that would actually tempt me to spend any money under the new system.
the Pharao set
Yeah I mean it's orange and black. Strange choice of name for sure but suits a mining or SAR build pretty well.Put pharaoh gold on your asp. Now tell me thats not orange.
I think "special friends" is a bit harsh - the Lavecon skins are given away to people who attend the annual Lavecon convention, tickets for which are publicly available - and although, yeah, it's obviously a UK convention - it's certainly not limited to "special friends" of Lave Radio (whatever the hell those are).
Oh right ... when you said "special friends" I thought you meant that Lave Radio was like some cliquey club but what you actually meant was "UK residents". OK, I get it now.The distinction probably would be clear to anyone who has to factor an international plane ticket ontop of the entry fee. In practice even with a good faith intention to take part as customary it’s a bit of an exclusive club.
