Oh! in that case, you could easily get the standard switch. The device is basically a portable home console that comes with two controllers. So multiplayer games would be a lot of fun. Single player may be an issue as it means they have to share the system, so it is a balancing act haha.
Sega's consoles did die too soon

. Though I never did grew up with the sega consoles, I loved the games they made such as the sonic trilogy, streets of rage, shenmue, and panzer dragoon to name a few.
I was mostly a playstation player, where the first home console we had was the playstation that I shared with my siblings. I was then able to have the PS2 as my first home console, followed by the wii as the PS3 was super expensive, then the PS3 slim, then the Wii U, then the PS4 (THE DAY BEFORE THE PRO VERSION WAS ANNOUNCED). Portably, it was the gameboy pocket and it died on me with the torn screen. Then it was the PSP, followed by the nintendo DS, 3DS, and PSVita. Then I slowly backtracked and got older consoles for the cheap prices, so I have N64, gamecube, wii, wii U, nes classic, snes classic for nintendo. PSone, PS2, PS3, PS4, PSP, and PSvita for playstation. I later modified my Psone to read games from an SD card as I still wanted to experience the games on my old console, but the CD drive was dying and the games were scratched up (thanks child me).
I never did have a proper gaming PC growing up, so consoles were my go to, but it did not stop me from trying out games like zoo tycoon, the sims, and roller coaster tycoon. I then went with a macbook pro for work, but I still hold on to my old favorites with a windows 8.1 virtual machine, which works really well to run my old favorites.
