Greetings,
I don't know about the Eagle (and many other ED ships) speedway paint jobs. Years ago playing Frontier: Elite II I flew the Eagle Mk II in traditional bad guy green I'm fond of. Still in ED I did go with a midnight black version. Well, ED doesn't actually have an Eagle Mk II. Probably some combination of the Eagle Mk I, II and III from the past.
The Mamba was introduced as a racer but after the Beta test Frontier had to make adjustments to hold up to their initial PR. Meanwhile what racer class is a Mamba? I'll leave that one for serious or funny replies to this thread.
The Imperial Courier speedway is right on! Engineered it has the specs to be a racer. Not racing? It also has serious firepower and can easily keep up with ship launched fighters. Just add talent. Meanwhile for me it has the general aesthetics of an Indy 500 car for the emotional feel. You be the judge.
Maybe some day we'll be able to change the number '93' for each player with actual races. Otherwise the Frontier live stream world wide racing commentators will eventually say, " number 93 wins!". A very limited start to player editing a paint job would probably swamp the Frontier store with players buying them for all the speedway paint jobs! Maybe pass this idea on to the Frontier 'how to make money this quarter' department.
I miss Edward Lewis at Frontier. Not the greatest racing pilot in ED but he setup a lot of early ED live-stream races and has the personality to be an awesome commentator. Think you Ed wherever you are.
