New Planet Tech is KILLER of Exploration (all terrain is tiling/repeating/not procedural/random)

So far, in the issue tracker there has been 4 media evidence stating this problem.

By the amount of outrage in this thread, I honestly thought that the issue tracker would be submerged in media evidence by now.

I'll wait tomorrow. And see again.

No, if we find two examples in such a short space of time - let's be generous and assume something like 200 systems searched so far - we can assume there are going to be A LOT.
Lol again.
ANY technical process, physical or virtual has some "failure rate", and ABSOLUTE numbers are irrelevant in it's quality rating.
Fails are ALWAYS divided by total number of "products", what is pretty obvious when you look at the name : "failure rate".

I am a bit stunned I have to explain such basics on a forum dedicated to a very "technical" game.

You really need to stop using ultraforceapture as your end-it-all. We shouldn't have to use such a drastic setting just to get what the planet should look like in the first place, where it matters, as a flyby or in orbit, where this issue is most prominent. While it did exist on a few planets in Horizons. It was nowhere close to being this bad and we didn't have to change the graphic settings so drastically to make it look good. As it should of if this new generation be actually better.

As for being on foot. Yes in some areas it does look better. But the first thing you see before footfall is the planet. It should be the first impression. Not what you see on 10 meters above the ground during normal gameplay. We shouldn't have to stop 100ls out just to change the graphic settings we didn't have to before just so it looks decent.
All new tech is there for med-ultra settings when flying on a planet or walking, just not for fake planet preview.

I think I found a second "Qwent" :)

Hmmm... You should stop demonizing "ultraforcecapture", it's just a normal setting, a bit more demanding.
I made a test and got 60 fps with occasional drop to 50 when a new chunk of terrain was generated.

You don't need to go far to see things repeat. I was docked in ShinDez, so I picked the nearest landable planet. This is planet A 2:

You can see a terrain structure appear twice in the system map preview. But do they appear outside the preview, too? Here's one:

How's it work in VR?

The fact it drops to 50fps on a 1000€ card is an issue I'd say.

It's also well above the "recommended" for EDO.
