Boring ice planets bother me less
if there are some diamonds in the rough. It actually gives some extra purpose to exploration, finding those rare lovely planets! That's why I left that thread on a positive note, because there was ample proof provided that there
are some really nice planets in Odyssey.
But the pictures in this thread (particularly the one I'll include below) that clearly show blatant, obvious, ugly pattern repetition, that really kills it for me. I know we all have different tolerance levels for things, but for me, that's right up there with Elephant Butt Leather and Dancing Disco Shadows. To be clear, I'm talking about the huge macro-level "in your face" canyons and such. I'm more tolerant of small repeating cracks in the ground that you basically have to circle to identify.
BTW, I'm not a fan of repetition in clouds in Horizons, either. Every single planet has a dozen hurricanes going at the same time? I don't like it! Butit's not a game-breaker for me, because I rarely get that close to non-landable planets to observe this, whereas AFAIK the OP is focusing on new landable, explorable planets.
