Do you think FD monitors forums and ghost bans some users?

Recommended spec: 1060 6GB. Drops frames on a 2070. I mean.. it is not that bad, I could leave it on on my card too probably, if they fix the other things that tank the fps, but stillHmmm... You should stop demonizing "ultraforcecapture", it's just a normal setting, a bit more demanding.
I made a test and got 60 fps with occasional drop to 50 when a new chunk of terrain was generated.
2560x1080, RTX 2070s
Then I would be a bit flabbergasted that it exactly hits me...It works on my side.

We're not speaking the same language here. I know what I'm trying to say, and maybe I need to explain it in 'technical terms'. Maybe you're just educated so you can coat it in fancy terminology, whatever. To everyone it'll make me look stupid, again, whatever.Lol again.
ANY technical process, physical or virtual has some "failure rate", and ABSOLUTE numbers are irrelevant in it's quality rating.
Fails are ALWAYS divided by total number of "products", what is pretty obvious when you look at the name : "failure rate".
I am a bit stunned I have to explain such basics on a forum dedicated to a very "technical" game.
The fact it drops to 50fps on a 1000€ card is an issue I'd say.
Guys, please tell me again why RECOMMENDED settings should translate to "will play in any resolution at any desired fps in maxed out settings"?Recommended spec: 1060 6GB. Drops frames on a 2070. I mean.. it is not that bad, I could leave it on on my card too probably, if they fix the other things that tank the fps, but still![]()
You are demonstrably wrong. I and others have flown to those planets, and flown down low to the surface. All new tech is there for med-ultra settings when flying on a planet or walking, just not for fake planet preview.
Nope but in Frontiers own words it should translate to 1080p with 60 FPS and High to Ultra settings for the recommend hardware.Guys, please tell me again why RECOMMENDED settings should translate to "will play in any resolution at any desired fps in maxed out settings"?
I won't argue with the fact that Odyssey performance optimization is... there is none, but my question is still valid.
Recommended should not be low or medium settings, at least. And your card is way over that. You are in 2k granted, but this game is not exactly RDR2.Guys, please tell me again why RECOMMENDED settings should translate to "will play in any resolution at any desired fps in maxed out settings"?
I won't argue with the fact that Odyssey performance optimization is... there is none, but my question is still valid.
It's not recommended.Guys, please tell me again why RECOMMENDED settings should translate to "will play in any resolution at any desired fps in maxed out settings"?

What tech are you talking about? Odyssey planet gen tech or planet's fake preview tech? Those what ppl are crying about in this thread is a planet's fake preview tech. Nothing to do with planet gen tech, when you landed. The fake planet preview did not exist like it is in EDO. The most you would see in Horizons is some LoD pop in as you get closer. Not obvious fake plastered tiles on the planet's surface. The "new" tech is worse. It is as simple as that.
I know what you mean,We're not speaking the same language here. (...)
OK you win. Let others judge.
I'll be blunt. It's probably something like the wrong lod/planet lod being used. Perhaps the lower setting one, but for every settings. The repetition might be a quirck in the engine.I know what you mean,
and it's not about winning.
I seriously have no idea what number is on the bottom of the fraction that we can use to find out if this is really a common problem.
What I know, is that we need to use some methodical approach to find out what percentage of planets are "broken" like this.
And then we can discuss if this is above or below a reasonable threshold - and this would be totally subjective argument for a change.
But we are not there yet.
I suspected part of the reason was it was much harder to see on a low contrast surface.
If they really gave so specific parameters...Nope but in Frontiers own words it should translate to 1080p with 60 FPS and High to Ultra settings for the recommend hardware.
Kinda like how they couldn't admit that the release build won't run much better then Alpha phase 4.I'll be blunt. It's probably something like the wrong lod/planet lod being used. Perhaps the lower setting one, but for every settings. The repetition might be a quirck in the engine.
The fact they made a "ultraforcapture" option for marketing purpose is quite revealing to the fact they are aware of the issue. They are probably working on it, and been working on it most likely before release.
So yeah, reporting it means little IMO. They know. They are already on it. Can't really admit it though, because that would make them look bad.
Or like they said EDO would be able to run on the same GPU than horizon (no changes) and then a day before release release the minimum requirement which was different than announced ?Kinda like how they couldn't admit that the release build won't run much better then Alpha phase 4.
Funny you mention Crysis. Was it Crysis 1 or Crysis 2, that also didn't cull stuff? Having the ocean always rendered with full reflections and whatnot under the surface? Similar to what people find EDO is doing? If they really gave so specific parameters...
Then I agree that they should sweat now to keep their promise.
My remark was more "general", I remember games like "Crysis" - when it was released there was literally no hardware to play on maxed settings![]()
Ok you got me, but they are not IDENTICAL, very similar. but not a clear case of copy paste.
