New player Advice from a New Player ( Non Combat )

No worries ^^ It's also quite healthy sometimes to go back to the basics and evaluate what you think you know.

So, I've dry-docked two comparable builds. The main difference is the Cobra runs a shield and the V4 sports armour, when in fact just for trucking you don't need either of those.

Cobra: https://s.orbis.zone/ce0g
Viper IV: https://s.orbis.zone/ce0j

Notes: I didn't fit a fuel scoop on either -- you don't need it. Both ships have total ranges around 120LY, which should be more than enough to get from A to B. In fact you might consider downsizing the internal tank. So we see that with this setup, the V4 actually has more cargo space than the C3, which however is owed to the suboptimal use of the the class 4 slot. If we drop the shield, the C3 zooms ahead again in cargo space.
And as noted by Northpin, the C3 is faster in realspace, and I'll add that it also has (slightly) better jumprange.

That said,
Starting to think the small and medium ships are better than the T-7 and T-9 overall in regards that the larger ships can’t go to the smaller ports and it gives the med and small ships way more flexibility in coverage and a lot less time as well.

It's a matter of personal preference ofc, but I for one fully confirm. Medium ships are the sweet spot for me and I currently don't own any Large ship except for one Clipper, and that one's just vanity. Basically with a Large ship you're locking yourself out of approximately half the stations in the galaxy. Also I vastly prefer fast and agile ships - but on the other hand most of the Small ones get bodied by many Mediums in this game, and just don't have the versatility due to limited internals. (There are a few edge cases.)

Long story short, in the long run you'll want a Python. ^^ But there's really no reason to go bigger than that IMO.

From testing this Kriat Phantom I am going to 100% agree with you it is so nice to fly if a python is better I am really in for a treat. I was eyeballing the Orca for so long but that was when I thought doing the Limo thing was good and easy money LOL! I mean it can be fun but...

Don't forget, if you don't have the credits to fill your hull with tasty cargo, those suckers on the mission board will just give you stuff to sell at black markets at 100% profit.

Oh yeah didn’t realize that Lol

still I am really enjoying the one jump show me the money trips though. Especially when I crash into things when I fall asleep haha

Yeah the Phantom is lovely -- one of my most flown ships, ideal for Exploration, fast transport, mat farming, and "smaller" missions you might do on the side. It's not so much a truck or fighter, fighter, though.

The Python is superb for mission running, transport, mining. For instance if can carry a mining rig plus some 200t of cargo space, which is ideal bc after mining 200t I'm thoroughly fed up with that activity. XD
Also the Python is reasonably agile in supercruise so you can evade any interdiction.
