New ship: Gutamaya Corsair

Never understood haulers defending themselves...you get so little from the bounty that it's simply not worth the time and energy. I could be docked and back onto another run before you explode that pirate.
Engage FSD, boost, boost, boost, jump.
I don't have weapons on most of my ships, no point.
By going weaponless it allows me to build better ships as I'm not constrained by the power plant.
Due to this logic the T-8 is hands down better than the Python for hauling.
I suppose that depends. Since I live Colonia, it's extremely rare to even see another commander. So, in the context of PvE, the fact that my Python (which is my primary mining ship) can also do a decent job of defending itself, I usually DON'T fight an interdiction by an NPC. I drop out, deploy my hardpoints and dispatch the would-be pirate. Now, if it happened to be a commander...well, I'm going to run if I can. For me, the T-8 took over the alternate role my Python played, which was as a medium hauler. Now, I can leave my Python permanently configured for mining, and the T-8 for hauling.

I made a habit of killing pirate Condas and T10s with my armed Cutter, just for the mats. Nowadays with the easier access to mats it's time spend better elsewhere, granted, but it is satisfying, breaks the hauling routine and yields at least some useful stuff.

How's that going to work out for you at, say, a CG?

No problem at all in Solo

O7
Yeah. Engineering, any sort of farming or grinding, and CGs are things that should only be done in private or solo. Unless it's a combat CG and you are hoping to find opposing players in a CZ. Or you're a ganker and you're hoping to find players who don't know to do that work in solo. Or you just hate yourself. Armed traders only stand a chance against NPCs anyway. Against players in a combat ship, unless they are utter noobs, there is no point trying to fight them.
