New ship: Panther Clipper

I really hope FDev take the opportunities having a proper "bridge" would gift them.

The dream of course would be to have a bridge you could walk around and different stations do different things. Unlikely, but maybe one day.

They should however absolutely refresh multi-crew roles as part of the Panther Clipper roll out. It's great them saying it's got four seats, but if players can't get proper multicrew roles then those seats will be vacant just as they are now in Imperial Cutters, Condas etc.

The Panther Clipper is crying out for proper NPC crew functionality. Hiring NPC crew to fill out certain roles;

- Piloting the ship - would be easy for npc crew (because we have Apex pilots that do the same thing), just plot the route.

- Weapons Specialist - would be easy to do because we have turreted weapons anyway, but an NPC crew member sat in the weapons chair spouting dialogue would add so much. A player in this role would use weapons either as in now (in that weird 3rd person mode, or from their POV of the bridge / control system we normally have.)

- Science Specialist - a scanner type role (NPC version would be paying their specialist salary for like an auto scanner / POI finder ability. They could give audio / dialogue cues when they find things in system. However, if a player took that role they would use the actual scanners we already have in game).

The new interface / stations in the Panther Clipper is literally a GIFT! FDev have to take this opportunity and push it further and faster to bring life back into multi crew.
We don't know what the winter feature will be yet. I'd love to have a fully fledged NPC system.

People aren't going to rush to buy a new ship that doesn't fit some niche/need.
Don't kid yourself.
It is a ship some have been waiting 10 years for... It is going to sell regardless.

ETA: But you, like me, can elect not to spend any Arx on it and wait for it to sell for credits. I suspect it will outsell all previous ships, just because it is iconic in the game franchise.

I never heard about the older Elite games before Elite Dangerous, they were very obscure titles from decades ago. I know some here have been waiting for the Panther Clipper but I noticed it was barely ever brought up until Trailblazers. In context of needing larger cargo ships is seemingly what brought it to the forefront of the community again.

We already have big un-fun bricks to fly in ED. If this doesn't bring home the bacon on the tonnage then thumbs down.
