This is the point of my previous comment on this thread. This ship should not be too powerful precisely because it will push current ships used for transport into oblivion. And unfulfilled expectations, ovechyped players will cause an avalanche of bitterness and disappointment. It will be something in between the combat capabilities of a cutter and a slightly larger hold than t9 (and cutter). Proposed capacity around 1000 tons along with maintaining the combat values of the ship will probably be this line. It will push t9 into t7 position of game assets anyway in my personal opinion (cutter we will see). The capacity with a striped ship from everything except holds will probably reach around 1200-1400 tons. So looks like you will get all range of yours "if's" ;-)If cargo capacity < 1,000 then the ship is dead on arrival.
If cargo capacity > 1,000 and < 1,200 then it's not worth buying ARX for.
If cargo capacity > 1,200 and < 1,400 then 50/50 on ARX purchase.
If cargo capacity > 1,400 then show me the ARX page.
its not a joke tho.. that would be a 30ish% increase over any other ship which came before. For me, it's simple: either it has a decent cargo capacity (at the very least 1500), or I’m not buying it. I don’t care if it makes this or that ship obsolete. If the devs release a ship with only 1k cargo capacity, it’s just a joke.
Everyone has their own point of view, no problem. I came back to play Elite just for Trailblazer, but I quickly realized it was a nightmare in solo, even though the idea is good. I have other games to play, so it's not a problem.its not a job tho.. that would be a 30ish% increase over any other ship which came before.
That said i am expecting a little more than that.... my money is on somewhere between 1200 and 1500 tons. add in it will presumably be SCO optimised which will likely add yet another on average 10% increase in earning potential over the T9 (exact figure depending on how far the trade stations are from the star of course)
I 100% will be buying one..................... albeit with in game credits...... i wont buy ships with cash personally. i use my ARX for other cosmetics stuff.
…with all optional internal slots size eight. Though size nine would be better....make it 2K stripped, and we have a deal![]()
Nice opinion... I will be buying one even if it's around 1000 tons, just for the fun of learning its flight characteristics. If cargo capacity < 1,000 then the ship is dead on arrival.

Count me in. I'll be buying it on day 1 for the reason that it is so immensely good looking. Won't be able to fly it before end of the year because I am on a journey and far away from the bubbleNice opinion... There's FCs all over the galaxy. Bet there's one a few hundred light years from you.Count me in. I'll be buying it on day 1 for the reason that it is so immensely good looking. Won't be able to fly it before end of the year because I am on a journey and far away from the bubble![]()
The T9 only uses 3% of its interior space for storage, so it could be half the size of the T9 and dedicate 12% of its volume to cargo and it would have double the capacity of the T9.It's all speculation however "The ship is known for its massive size and capability to carry significant cargo loads." Key words "massive size" and "Significant cargo loads"
Size we know by now is limited to the entry slot on stations, and I'm sure FDEV is not going to add and new pad for this ship so it has to fit the largest landing pad in the game.
Yeah, I'm particularly interested in where the pilot's seat is. Zorgon Peterson ships are historically the only ships where I don't mind offcentre seating so much because at least I don't feel like I'm sitting in the passenger seat.I have had these statements I heard when the clipper was announced rolling around in my head, It was along the lines of- We've made a new complete true bridge model. Something again like- Because it's a unique and very large ship. Those aren't quotes but similar enough along those lines. I'm curious what that actually means, a bridge like on a FC, that is walk-able? Maybe just mentioning it because the Corsair had a Courier cockpit?
I am really curious and looking forward to June's Frontier Unlocked.
side note: Was going to type- looking forward to June's FU.But though new forum members might not understand and take it the wrong way.
Not quite CIG though, unless the PC releases at £/$/€ 1,500...But given how money driven FDEV have become recently, taking a CIG playbook and selling ships that "Punch Above Their Weight" for real coin is a proven way to bring in the cold, hard cash.
Interestingly, 10,000 ARX paint jobs and 16kARX kits are comparable with CIG's $5-$15 paint jobs. Not quite CIG though, unless the PC releases at £/$/€ 1,500...
A tenner is hardly CIG's style![]()
All that is quite nice and good, but tell me
When? WHEEEEN?![]()

But you're right about ships... A small CIG ship is $45+ which is the cost of an entire new game. LOL.
