Hi mate a few things i've noticed, great tool by the way this is just what i was looking for.

Code:
	Machinery
	{
		"Atmospheric Processors"
		"Crop Harvesters"
		"Microbial Furnaces"
		"Marine Supplies"
		"Mineral Extractors"
		"Power Generators"
		"Water Purifiers"
	}
	Medicines
	{
		"Agri-Medicines"
		"Basic Medicines"
		"Combat Stabilisers"
		"Performance Enhancers"
		"Progenitor Cells"
	}
	Metals
	{
		"Aluminium"
		"Beryllium"
		"Cobalt"
		"Copper"
		"Gallium"
		"Gold"
		"Indium"
		"Lithium"
		"Palladium"
		"Platinum"
		"Silver"
		"Tantalum"
		"Titanium"
		"Uranium"
	}
	Minerals
	{
		"Bauxite"
		"Bertrandite"
		"Coltan"
		"Gallite"
		"Indite"
		"Lepidolite"
		"Rutile"
		"Uraninite"
	}
	Slavery
	{
		"Imperial Slaves"
	}
	Technology

Easy to update in the commodities file the few missing including slaves.

Secondly there are many more government types and duel economies etc than in the drop downs. While manual data is persistant they don't then populate the dropdowns for future use.
Can you either export these 2 fields to the text file or maybe just the governments and a secondary drop down for economy?
Also i'd be keen on prices too even if its a text field and the matchmaking is still done via demand. That we we can at least check if historically there is profit to be made.

As i said great tool otherwise! Really enjoying it.

I had put together something similar for Android, but frankly having this on the PC is a lot better!
Just downloaded and I'm loving it already, will be using this a lot. :)
Thank you for your work!

An android version would be cool, no more alt tabbing

Just a small point on 1.3
The economy type has only single economy types to choose from, any chance on adding multi economy options?

Can someone tell me if 1.3 already has all the commodities listed, i'm working so cannot check it right now? (well at least not counting rare commodities)

If not can someone that already did it post here the code for all commodities in the commodities market order? Tks a lot, and once again, great app!

Thanks for the effort ---- I worked up an excel sheet to do my tracking of supply and demand, but it was turning out to be cumbersome trying to go thru so many sheets of paper trying to find the trading matchups. I can't wait to try this out tomorrow. I'm thinking about trying to set up a side 19 in monitor to run Captains Log while the game is on my main monitor
Well I tried the side monitor only to find that the mouse cursor is trapped in the game which means I have to exit the game to use the log ---- I'm searching for a workaround if anyone has a fix for this please post. I do have an old laptop , but it is 32 bit so captains log won't work on it

Thank you for this nice Tool. It meets perfekt my playstyle. I can change the list to the "german-version" without any problems. Now i can put my "Pen´n´Paper" away.

I´m very happy, thx!

Clever design, love how you can add custom categories and new commodities.
Began expanding my rare commodities network :)

EDIT: For people complaining about it being offline only, or those who want to collaborate/share their data. You can probably use Dropbox/Google Drive combined with desktop client.

...I'm running out of room and really don't want to expand the footprint anymore....

I never use the 'Commodities' frame info and the 'Good Trades' frame at the same time - so (if this is easy?) for me you could make them tabbed and occupy the same space.

Alternately - get rid of the 'Commodities' frame, given it can be brought up by 'Data Entry Mode' - not sure I'm so fond of this though.

Another option would be to reduce the 'Systems and Stations' frame to two drop-down lists - one for Systems, one for Stations - placed along the top?

For me you could certainly delete completely the 'help' frame.

Thanks again for this excellent & very 'lite' app.

Great job, I've looked at other tools, but this one matches what I most want out of Elite.

One suggestion, as some one pointed out that there is no way to record prices, I don't want to type amounts in, but I'd like to know if they sell above or below the average price. Demand does not indicate profit.

Something like the check box for demand high, med, low, and above average, below average, average.

This would make this perfect.

Thanks again. Please ignore me if you don't wish to add this.

Fly well.

That's a great idea. Nice and simple - like the tool. Loving it.

Works great with a 2nd monitor on Borderless setting (a setting I never really 'grokked' until now, lol!)

Some more tips...

1. When setting the commodities you can multi select several at once then set them with the right click - hold down CTRL and left click each commodity, then right click.

2. Not set or none - When you first create a station, they are all set to "not set" I generally leave them as this so any commodity not in the list are "not set", now sometimes I see a commodity in the list, but it doesn't have a demand or supply value, so I set these to NONE - meaning no demand or supply.

3. Every time I dock now - even though I've got all the data, I open up the data entry mode and overlay it on the commodities I tick the two "HIDE" check boxes and then quickly check the demands / supplies with the settings in Elite and update them, once I've done that I then select ALL of the visible commodities and click the "MARK CURRENT" button - this button updates the AGE of each of the selected commodities.

Hope this helps.

That no 3 is an awesome tip, thanks! :)

Well I tried the side monitor only to find that the mouse cursor is trapped in the game which means I have to exit the game to use the log ---- I'm searching for a workaround if anyone has a fix for this please post. I do have an old laptop , but it is 32 bit so captains log won't work on it

I'll throw up a 32-bit version. It's no extra work really. Especially if it will make the difference between someone using it on a second machine or not. You're just the first person to mention it :) Won't be until I get home from work though.

Set your game mode (Graphics options) to Borderless, then you can move your mouse directly to the tool (no longer trapped inside the game!)

Hey Arch,

I echo everyone else's comments about your awesome tool (and I don't mean the one in your pants :S).

I sent you a PM if you want to get more time in game I'd be happy to help out with coding, fixing bugs, whatever. There are some great ideas on here (like using tabs, adding a 'above gal average/below gal average' indicator, for example).

Let me know.

I love the tool, many thanks! I would like to use it on my 2nd monitor which is turned on its side, but the current UI is about 2cm's too big and overlaps the edge of the screen. Is there any way you could add a resize option or make the overall window a little smaller?

+rep incoming soon. I really am liking this tool and the simplicity. Let us know if/when you ever decide to open source it.
