New Version of Cmdr's Log Available!

Evening Commanders :p

I tried out this OCR thing but can't get it to work, even watched a youtube clips but alas :(

I get as far as where u have 4 screen shots & press ocr or ocr all but all i get is " System name not found in log files " eta even though i've pointed the patch to the ED product folder which contain the log files ?

Any ideas ?

I have the same issue. It was not there and I do not know what triggered the change. I'm pretty sure I point app to right folder with logs. This is however minor problem - just put manually system name on each page of OCR process and all data will be stored correctly.

Please read this previous post by Issmir. It explains everything you need to do. This happens after every patch.
Also, you will need to jump to another system to actually start the logging process. After that, it's gravy.

I did put verbose logging back after 1.06 update. Will double check, perhaps made some typo. Thanks!
No problem :).
Just in case, this is what the network entry looks like in my AppConfig.xml file:
Code:
<Network Port="0" upnpenabled="1" LogFile="netLog" DatestampLog="1" VerboseLogging="1">

OK, my turn for a feature request :D Put a button next to the 'Edit Station Notes...' that is labeled 'Explorers Log'. This will open a scrollable window with four columns: 'System' 'Unexplored' 'Partly Explored' 'Fully Explored'. The first column is auto-entered by the program whenever you add a new system/station. If it doesn't already exist then it is added to the list, if it does exist then it is ignored. The other three columns are radio buttons where 'Unexplored' is selected by default. This way you can not only track where you have been but also what has and has not been explored by you and how much. Thoughts?

I tried running it out of my dropbox back in v1 but it kept freezing up on me.

I guessed it was because the program didn't like that it's files were being accessed by dropbox when they were synced.

Edit: Might have been crashing, I don't remember. But it wasn't usable so I had to move it out of the dropbox.

I have been using Cmdr's Log with DropBox the last two weeks daily on two different computers, and have never had any problems with it. I only use it on one computer at a time, my work laptop, and my home desktop system.
And I have about 50-60 stations logged with all commodities logged and maximum number of custom fields. (Thanks ArchV1 for making custom check boxes available :) )

IDW this feature added in-game anymore unless it's an API-based thing that lets us slot in this tool. Far too useful now to run without it.

Could you make updating existing stations case-insensitive?

I just had it add a new station called "Mcmahon Dock" instead of updating my existing "McMahon Dock".

>:

...it seems it added a duplicate of "Cleve Hub" as well, even tough the capitalization is the same...

...

Oh.

I missed an a in "Eravate".

That's why.

Edit: Case-sensitivity issue remains, spelling the system name correctly solved the Cleve Hub one though.

Another teeny tiny feature request.

Could you please make the imported station the selected station after import ?

After I import an XML from EliteOCR I then have to scroll down to the bottom of the list (becoming substantial) to add the Gov/Faction/Economy/Blackmarket info...... every time :)

Could you please make the imported station the selected station after import ?

Hi

This would be a nice feature. But it could be more then one new Station imported, so the first station should be selected.

And the sort of the Age of the collected data seem to be broken:

New
23h
20h
20h
13h
10m ?
None ?
1d
1d
2d

It should be

New
10m
13h
20h
20h
23h
1d
....
None ?

Thanks

Great tool, really satisfying to use and it makes trading feel more your own hard work instead of checking an online database for the best prices/routes to make some quick cash.

If I may make one suggestion/request.

When I'm entering for the first time or updating the commodities list and am entering the prices I use the NumPad and enter my way through the list.
However, every time I've to change the status, demand/supply or set it to none, I've to take my hand of the keypad to grab my mouse and interact with the drop down menu. If the status properly is set correctly for the commodities, you can update the price list very quickly, if it isn't, having to take my mouse of the keypad to grab my mouse and fiddle around with the drop down menu, is simply put, costing me time :)

It would be really nice to have hot-key's to modify the status drop down menu, to a preset value.
This would allow me to stay hands on the keypad to enter prices/quantaties and with a single keystroke modify the commodity status field.

I believe this could increase the amount of data I can enter without having to mess around with the mouse and drop down menu.
Example Hot-key's I had in mind
Q High Demand
A Medium Demand
Z Low Demand

W Not set
S None
X illegal

E High Supply
D Medium Supply
C Low Supply

See what you do with this request/suggestion, I'm already happy you have made this tool and I don't have to sort to creating my own old school pen & paper notes.

Thx,

Thx,

Press the Help key, and your hotkeys are there. I find the fastest manual entry is to do the demand levels, and then go in and do prices from the top down, so the auto-return goes down a step. Arrowkey down past any commodities you're not modifying.

I can honestly say the ONLY feature not yet implemented that I feel is a 'need' is making Arrive/Depart automated. (or a way to make it work with VA hotkeys)

On the 'want' level is sound stating voice output what system you are arriving at, and that on arrival at a station it can state station name and how long since you were last there. If it has been more than a day it could say you might want to update your personal log.

On the sound optional side it could even read out your notes (sound queue for added custom fields could easily be added as well is they are checked)

OCR note, the details on what type of station, what main faction, and population size can be auto obtained by the OCR scan but we would have to talk to the OCR people to offer that scanning as a option.

hey,

i love your CMDR's Log.
In my small community we are exchangeing csv-files of Stations so we can enlarge our stock of stations. Ist the perfect solution for us :D.

There is one thing I would like to see in this tool: I think it would be great if the tool could calculate the distance between systems. This would be easier to handle finding trade routes or possible stations when purchasing certain resources. Slopeys tool has a function, where the distance flows with the trade route. Is this ever be planned in the future for CMDR log to be part of this program?

Face Palm... only took notice of the left table in the help window that explained the acronyms... My bad... Still I'm not keen with all the hot-keys being spread out all across the keyboard, but i'll give it a shot.

Maybe a bug in 2.1d?

Whenever I toggle a commodity as ILLEGAL, then exit the Commodities window and then re-open the Commodities screen...all of the commodities previously tagged as ILLEGAL are still showing as ILLEGAL but are also now set as HS.

Um... that's unexpected. Can anyone else verify this is happening? (I can't try it until I get home from work).

Wow, just tried it with EliteOCR for the first time. What a difference it makes, so much data so fast now....

... the only slight disappointment being that I haven't found anything to beat my old round trip yet, but the search is still young.

Thanks for all the hard work!
