You probably shouldn't make assumptions about what other people may or may not be assuming.
It's been documented that in order to make the game they wanted to make, they had to take it online. That isn't an assumption that they never intended to make an offline mode. If anything, it's an admission that it became evident during the development cycle that an offline mode wasn't feasible.
I'm just pointing out what you say.
Again: Offline was promised as part of the design.
So either you design offline in it and follow the design goal, or you don't and do not follow the design goal.
Now you are saying it was not part of the design goal, and the only way for that to happen is if the promise of it being part of the design goal was false.
So again, are you aware of what you are saying? This is not about asumptions, but purely reading what you write.
