Upgraded from an nvidia 750ti to an nvidia 1070...
I guess I didn't realize how much the card effected everything ... with the 750ti I would routinely get 45-60 fps under most circumstances (most settings ultra... flying around, in and out of stations). I didn't think I needed to upgrade my card for elite... after the upgrade I've noticed...
- the galaxy map comes up nearly instantaneous... I always thought it was a networking / interwebs thing. Guess not!
- switching panels is also instant, thought the pauses were normal!
- taking the anaconda for a spin, it handles better! Was probably dropping more frames than I thought...
- system map and mission board come up faster...
- you go to super cruise and drop out of it faster
- landing on a planet is a much much much more seamless experience. Previously I'd pause when getting close, pause going into glide, pause coming out of glide.
Bottom line, if you're thinking about upgrading and you play the elite enough... it's worth it! It's also worth noting I'm a 1080p'er (with the old card and the new).... the pc is 8gb memory and an intel i5 that's 2 years old... hope this is useful to someone on the upgrading fence...
