HUD Color Change!!!

Hello everyone, just landed here, I was wondering how to change HUD color of my spacecraft, but i cant find the appropriate section here on the forum.
Do you guys have some link or suggestion how to do it?
I really want a color like Dark purple or blue, I hate the orange Fiat Style color :D

Thx in Advance

Safe flights!!!

And in case you weren't aware, green is recommended for the DK2 as it makes text easier to read

I've been using the green with blue accents from here
<MatrixRed> 0, 0.5, 0 </MatrixRed> <MatrixGreen> 0, 0, 1 </MatrixGreen> <MatrixBlue> 0.1, 0.1, 0 </MatrixBlue>

I'm newbie, but... (Screen colours)

Hi all. I'm not a dev or programmer, but am a bit of a geek. I love this game and bought the DK2 to enjoy it to it's full. Since the update on the 4th, the dk2 in extended mode seems to be in a lower colour bit depth. Can anyone confirm this? If I use it in direct mode, the colours are perfect but extended seems like they've shifted to 16bit depth. It does improve the game stutter quite dramatically, as you'd expect, but I can't find confirmation on the forums/update details so just wanted to check it's a game improvement, not my system glitching.

I haven't seen any major changes like this since the new update. However, a couple of times my rift has appeared as though its in a 16bit colour palette when I load it up and I cure it by switching it off (while in game) and then back on again. Alt tab back to the game if needed. See if that works?

Thanks for that. Did some delving and messing. Turns out I can blame NVidia again LMAO. Re-install (clean option) 344.75 and it's all sorted.

These settings pasted into your GraphicsConfiguration.xml give you a green GUI and the enemies show up as red on the radar.

I swear by it ;)

Didn't work for me, unfortunately. Didn't save settings and screwed with my colour issue! Mind you, my system does seem to be getting more glitchy! I have the colour problem back again, and the only way I can sort it out is to make the DK2 my main monitor and set ED to primary monitor. NVidia I'm sure, as my desktop background showing on the DK2 is also in low bit res. Mind you, I've had problems with this system since after the 327 drivers. Asus Sabertooth 990fx v1, amd FX8350 and GTX 660Ti. I think I need an upgrade! That said, I'm amazed at how well ED runs on the 660! Smooth enough not to get seasick!

I was just about to post looking for these exact settings. Thanks mate

This is my favorite for the DK2 and I haven't seen it mentioned anywhere, so I thought I'd share:

<MatrixRed> -1, 1, 0 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 1, -0.5, 1 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> -1, 0.2, 1 </MatrixBlue>

I use this at the moment, and I like it a lot. It's light blue with red and a little bit of yellow, plus you get different colors on your sensors to indicate what everything is.
Hope you'll enjoy it.

<MatrixRed> 0, 1, 1 </MatrixRed>
<MatrixGreen> 1, 1, -1 </MatrixGreen>
<MatrixBlue> 1, -1, -1 </MatrixBlue>

These are the best settings I've seen so far. Text is still easy to read while still having unique colours for everything else.

With these settings I noticed my red trading rank badge is flashing orange occasionally. Does that mean I'm close to going up a rank? I'm at Peddler with 450k trading profit.

Glad you like it. It took me a while to find the right colors for the sensors.

I'm not sure about the orange flashing rank badge. I haven't noticed it. But in your case I hope it indicates that you are ranking up, and that's a nice trading profit by the way.

Positional tracker and colours

Normally I play ED without the positional tracker because of chair/monitor placement.

I tired using the tracker today and noticed that when it is connected, everything is way more colourful and pleasant. When I unplug the tracker, the game is more washed out and pale. There is a huge difference in colour quality when the tracker is connected and tracking.

Because of my setup it's hard to use the tracker all the time. If its connect I suffer from jitter where it tracks then loses tracking. Consequently, my vision goes from bright vibrant colours to washed out pale which is really annoying after a bit.

Any idea how I can enjoy the colourful experience without using the tracker?

Shame when you have to resort to google to find a post on this board.
found this one: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=69859 and looking now.

unless anyone has any better ideas

I think you are stuck with it - the washed out effect is how the Rift tells you that tracking isn't working. Try this - with tracking on, put both hands over the front of the Rift. You'll notice the colours wash out, then return when you take your hands away again. Incidentally doing this gets rid of the slight juddering that you sometimes get too - it resets the tracking.

Dark color banding (16-bit look) workaround

I used to have pretty colors, but something happened and the dark end got horrible banding, which made the "shadows follow head tracking too eagerly" thing really bad.

Then it went away, and I almost forgot about it.

Then it came back.

Apparently I'm not the only one: http://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comments/2kyl2h/fix_for_crushed_blackdark_range_16bit_look_when/

The thing that worked for me was unpluging (and replugging) the Rift HDMI cable when in the loading screen with the planet in the background. It's easy to tell if the banding is happening by looking at the edge of the shadow on the planet: it gets horrible aliasing when the banding effect is on.

(Couldn't find anything here, so thought to share in case I'm not the only one.)
