This just shows that they are putting aside the opinion of who they should please, we have a serious problem...Yeah, I think we told them this since a year ago

Nope. It shows they need to do more. It's been getting better. This just shows that they are putting aside the opinion of who they should please, we have a serious problem...
As I discussed in one of the texts presented on the forum, it is no use creating a gigantic castle of content. being that the castle is of sand and collapse in the first wave. We see games like Cyberbug 2077 that went this route, focused on content and forgot about everything else.I just don't understand why they haven't fixed the appalling frame times issue with bases ?
To most gamers I'd say this is the No1 issue.
If they can't, better give up ED: Odyssey soon and invest time in something decent and that worked, because you can't create content on something relatively broken that only a few lucky or submissive people to the developers' wills can handle playing. This issue needs fixing ASAP. Before anything else.
Unless of course they can't fix it because the engines knackered/maxed
The time has passed to fix this, it's embarrassing for a company that has developed such immersive and advanced mechanics. In the alpha the framerate was pretty bad at settlements, however in some cases it was still better than what we have now. I don't know if it's the lack of culling, or problems with it, but the biggest change between the alpha and release of Odyssey has been the lighting tech. Somehow everything looked a lot more organic back then.
I really, really want to know if there are still some bigger performance improvements scheduled to come over the course of the next updates, or if these smaller changes are all there is left. While I am able to play at 40-50 fps in most cases, its still significantly worse than horizons or any other title I've been playing as of late. Not to mention the absolutely horrific anti-aliasing thats more apparent then ever.
But you need detail. Why? Because a good proportion of the player base are playing a working game. Myself included. So if you just come on here and say "GaMe iS BrOkEn" without providing details of exactly what it is that you are experiencing then you don't help FDev to fix it and you don't garner any sympathy from me either. Tell them what your problems are, SPECIFICALLY. Otherwise your complaint is nothing more than a troll post from someone who might not even be playing the game anymore. Is it framerate? Ok. Is that framerate in space an issue? In ports? On the ground? In settlements? In CZs?Without any details, since basically the game itself is broken and fragmenting with each update that passes. In a little while, we can see that ED: Odyssey is a gigantic castle, but completely made of soft sand that will crumble with the wave![]()
A big mistake, you are totally correct! You almost had it right!
OdysseyOptimizationNeeds to be Fixed.
I'm not experiencing major FPS issues (not tried it on Update 12 yet) and I'm on a laptop on Ultra settings.Okay, looks like no Odyssey for me. Good to know. Thanks, guys. (I do not intend to play ED in pancake mode. I could, obviously, but I have no desire to, and that clinches it.)
From what I gather driver version matters a lot, hearing quite a few people with poor performance on the latest Nvidia drivers.I'm not experiencing major FPS issues (not tried it on Update 12 yet) and I'm on a laptop on Ultra settings.
I'm on NVidia. I think the issue was with the AMD latest driver. From what I gather driver version matters a lot, hearing quite a few people with poor performance on the latest Nvidia drivers.
3060 is ideal for 1080p. Looses about 20% FPS at 1440p and at 4k 50% FPS loss.CPU: Ryzen75 5600x

I think performance is fairly random and hardware agnostic.Am I the only one who plays Odyssey without problems? I constantly see people complaining about things that never happen to me. Maybe it's my old system, but I'm surprised that more modern systems seem to have so many problems. I guess, though, that those who have no problems, don't go around telling everyone that Odyssey is perfect for them. That's not a complaint against the OP or anyone, just a more general observation.
Now, my system is, for want of a better term, 'ancient'. It's an old AMD FX9590, with a Sapphire Pulse Vega 56 GPU. Yes, I only run the game at 1080p 60Hz, but that's all my old monitors will do (I was intending to upgrade just as the mining boom hit and GPU prices skyrocketed), but I still get a constant 60fps in all areas and aspects of the game. I've not measured my fps in VR though, but my GPU does go a bit nuts with the fans when I run in VR (Pimax 8K-X native res, so 2x 4K screens).
If it's newer hardware bringing problems, I'm more inclined to stick with my old kit, and play Elite without any of those problems...
No, I'm playing in 4K Ultra - but do have pretty reasonable kit.Am I the only one who plays Odyssey without problems?

It doesn't seem to matter what your set up is and I think this is a big part of the performance issue facing FD.
