Odyssey Progress

Thanks for your post David (hope I may call you by your first name here ;) ).
From my POV you don't have to apologise for launch-issues. That's happening to all game/software-developer-studios I know.
Of course I appreciate you getting in touch with us about this via the forum (I know you're already doing on Twitter).
I'm looking forward on the further development of Odyssey and I'm sure that (especially) the hard bugs will be fixed soon.

With our first hotfix now released and another one arriving very shortly, I wanted to take a moment to address the wider community feedback and reports regarding performance issues, server outages, and bug reports within Elite Dangerous Odyssey.  

First and foremost, I would like to apologise wholeheartedly to those who have been suffering from these problems. I would like to reassure you that we take these issues very seriously and that they are our top priority and focus.  

Our second hotfix will be released very soon, which we hope will address more of the reported bugs and bring further stability improvements into the game.  We will continue to work on updates which will resolve more bugs and improve stability further.

Some of our players are reporting poor performance on machines where we would expect the performance to be good, and others are saying it is fine. We are trying to get to the bottom of this. I have been playing on my old home machine from 2014, which has an Intel i7 Extreme CPU and a GTX 980 GPU, 16 Gb RAM, playing at 1080p full screen at Ultra. I was doing this so I could have a good feel for how the game was playing on older hardware, and I used this same machine during Alpha. I have also been playing on a high spec 2021 dev machine.

I would like to thank you all for your patience and support. The Elite Dangerous community has always been at the heart of the game. We understand that there are a number of players who have had problems accessing and playing the game and I can assure you that we are focusing fully on improving this for those affected and communicating with you openly and regularly about how these issues are being addressed.

Now on a serious note, bugs and problems and all that is way more than normal and expected. Only clueless people think every release is bug free.

Great, i had 1 or 2 issues yesterday, but today after the update it keeps crashing out and many a time i had to go into horizons, just to get back into odyssey..

Thanks for the info and the apology, much appreciated!

Please let your team look into the graphics issues, I can't believe a 980 runs smooth, when my 2060 not even on Ultra settings is constantly at 100%.
Especially at the concourses it is bad.

And also please reconsider some UI changes because more clicks to do things is bad.

Also please take a look at the graphics settings, many paintjobs look way worse now and the lightning is all over the place.
 
Thank you for taking time to address issues and comment personally. I would hope there is a way to determine who has lost credits during this time as I have lost millions that I earned. Not to be so negative and winey, but I hate having to buy my ship the four times I have and ammo that mysteriously seems to vanish. I am a new user to the Elite Community, bought Horizons, Odyssey Alpha, and now the expansion, so I believe I have earned my lost credits. Thank you for listening and your reassurance.

This is the best thing I have ever read from Frontier. The top guy says "once I get 60 fps on a planet surface on THIS rig, THEN you can call it optimized."

But he's British, so he'd probably call it "optimised."
 
And then people wonder why the Devs and David don't post on the forum as often as they used to :rolleyes:

I do wish those making rude, obnoxious and negative posts would appreciate that this is counter-productive and absolutely not helpful to anyone. If you were working flat out to make something better and someone else posted what you just posted, or are about to, how would that make you feel?

Com nosso primeiro hotfix lançado agora e outro chegando em breve, gostaria de dedicar um momento para abordar os comentários e relatórios da comunidade mais ampla sobre problemas de desempenho, interrupções no servidor e relatórios de bugs no  Elite Dangerous Odyssey .  

Em primeiro lugar, gostaria de pedir desculpas de todo o coração àqueles que têm sofrido com esses problemas. Gostaria de reafirmar que levamos essas questões muito a sério e que são nossa principal prioridade e foco.  

Nosso segundo hotfix será lançado em breve, e esperamos que resolva mais dos bugs relatados e traga mais melhorias de estabilidade para o jogo. Continuaremos trabalhando em atualizações que irão resolver mais bugs e melhorar ainda mais a estabilidade.

Alguns de nossos jogadores estão relatando baixo desempenho em máquinas onde esperaríamos que o desempenho fosse bom, e outros estão dizendo que está bom. Estamos tentando chegar ao fundo disso. Estou jogando em minha velha máquina doméstica desde 2014, que tem uma CPU Intel i7 Extreme e uma GPU GTX 980, 16 Gb de RAM, jogando em tela cheia de 1080p no Ultra. Eu estava fazendo isso para ter uma boa noção de como o jogo estava sendo executado em um hardware mais antigo e usei essa mesma máquina durante o Alpha. Também tenho jogado em uma máquina de 2021 dev de alta especificação.

Gostaria de agradecer a todos pela paciência e apoio. A   comunidade Elite Dangerous sempre esteve no centro do jogo. Entendemos que vários jogadores tiveram problemas para acessar e jogar o jogo e posso garantir que estamos nos concentrando totalmente em melhorar isso para as pessoas afetadas e em nos comunicarmos aberta e regularmente sobre como essas questões estão sendo tratadas.
