ANNOUNCEMENT Odyssey Update 2021

Thanks for update 4 --- my biggest problem is not being able to buy a better computer and I find it unbelievable how there are hundreds of people criticizing the game and being able to play on high/ultra settings, it seems they have no idea how complex the universe is and everything related to it, including space simulation games that want to unite science and fun.
You Forgot Grind

Why not take the time to polish up the game by pushing back pc release on par with consoles ? The first few weeks are going to be mess anyway due to all the bugs.
You don't want another petition.

The release being pushed back for consoles only suggests to me that there are optimization concerns, I hope. No need to delay a release for PC users because of consoles. I really appreciate this, because it's more of a risk to them to not have a unified launch for every platform.
This didn't age well...

Is this Odyssey 4 update or a joke?

- Another settlement where FPS drops dramatically (the location of the settlement is indicated in the video)

- In the same settlement, textures are broken.

- Is this called optimization? Probably someone was joking? (The location of the base is indicated in the video.)

- Is this load on the video card also optimization?

- Logo error on left shoulder Maverick - is this a visual bug fix?

- Fixed NPC behavior?

Anyone else noticed the damage decals on SRV windscreens rotate when you steer (fixed to world / local frame of reference alignment, not SRV alignment)?

Odyssey Update 3.01 - very strange update:

Planet surface texture error
Logo bug on left shoulder Maverick

Of course, I'm sorry, but the impression is that Odyssey is kept on crutches.
Let’s hope the crutches are solid ☺️

Got a 2080 Super at 4k, capped at 60 fps (display refresh) all the time in space. On stations sometime the fps drop to 20, landing at settlements as low as 14. So it's "normale"...
(Cyberpunk at 4k was around 55 fps with everything but raytracing at max. On release day.)

Yeah... I'm done as well.
Uninstalling.

Elite Week - especially the clips posted to YouTube - has sadly devolved into trading on the most controvertial talking points, likely because that means viewers, viewers means ads and ads mean money. It's only a matter of time before their thumbnails include Edvard Munch-esque screaming faces. I've started avoiding their content altogether; I really don't enjoy their vitriolic shock-jock style coverage.

So, as someone who regularly watches the livestreams they definitely have a problem to solve following their commitment to more news content. Pretty much every Supercruise News recently has been extended beyond the allotted time - seemingly at the expense of the CMs personal time - so they can fit both news content and gameplay in.

While some pople definitely tune into Supercruise News just for an update on how Odyssey development is going, the viewer numbers only drop by 200-300 (of ~1000) when that segment ends and they start the gameplay section. If we take this as indicative, and discounting the possiility that any of the viewers only want gameplay, 30% of the audience may be there just for the news while 70% may be there for both the news and the gameplay.

From the above, hopefully we agree that switching to a pure news-based update would underserve whatever percentage of the community that is actually interested in the gameplay as well as news. So what do they do? Make the livestreams longer? Add more livestreams during the week? Both of these would take time away from what the CMs are otherwise doing.

They said they'll try the fortnightly schedule and see how it works, with a stream every other week dedicated to just news and a developer update every month. I hope much of the content mentioned later in that Elite Week clip is intended to be in that monthly developer stream. I'm not sure it's feasible to expect them to be able to deliver that weekly.

I would like to see answers for questions ? And not someone being "one of the boys/gals" playing the game badly .
There are plenty of questions being asked but being ignored .
There is plenty of stuff around get the developers on , the arty people the ones in the background who have a love for the stuff that they do .
Questions about why what how where .
We see your question about power play the new elite ranking BGS and crime and punishment fleet carriers remote refueling , consoles. We will ask and get an answer .
Nope if we ignore it it will go away .
Please that's all we are asking if you don't know ask and let us know the outcome . I may not like the answer but at least I get one .
In the end we need reassuring that the game we all love and play will still be around .

I wonder if these people claim that the manufacturers of their favorite beer are constantly communicating to them the progress and process of the manufacture of the bottles, the development of new flavors, and they fill social networks with irrational cries of hatred if they do not like a flavor Either it is not what I expected, or if by mistake the company found a bug inside the bottle.

You're confusing interactive entertainment with passive entertainment. Maybe it's time to lay the passive entertainment down and call it a day :p
