Odyssey VR specific bug reports - please contribute!

I am not able to get the Free Camera to move in VR, is this still a bug ?
Also DSS still broke
Yes, unfortunately, the Free Camera is immovable in VR still; although I'm not 100% certain if it's affecting every CMDR. Here's an issue I wrote up for it: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/27844. I believe there are a few (similar issues) out there, and probably another one with more eyes on it, so please feel free to vote for those and other VR issues you come across in the Tracker. --

The DSS issue should be 100% resolved in Update 5 targeted for July 1.

Please vote for the bug report as linked by Malvaluna above - although the one linked by [vr)av also has “acknowledged” status (meaning it is also being internally tracked by FDev), the one I have listed in the OP has more votes and is (presumably) more visible.

I’d appreciate it if anyone can check to see if they’re is still having this issue: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/33502 - I’m no longer getting the solid black curved screen when exiting to the main menu.

If I can get another confirmation then I’ll move it to the Closed section as an undocumented fix.

Unfortunately the problem still persists for me. altho not gamebreaking (it only covers the image of your ship) it deserves a fix. sorry for the bad news Rift S, 3070, i7-8700K

That’s a strange one then - nothing has updated on my system since I was last experiencing the issue. I’ll see if it’s come back next time I play.

Thanks for replying 👍

First thing I saw when I logged in to check was that black screen. I was last playing on a monitor, because anything but the gentlest of movements on foot can be nauseating in theater mode.

Cheers for another non-confirmation 😁

I wonder if it was something to do with what I was doing before logging to the main menu? I’d been running around a crash site using the VR glitch, which causes a disappearing body bug when going back to the virtual flatscreen, but I re-embarked my Cobra before logging off.

I think they've fixed the 'some rocks only rendering in one eye' bug - just noticed this today, not played for a while due to the whole meh'ness of FDev's VR stance, but just popped in and this seems to have been fixed?

I thought I spotted some odd rocks in the middle distance when I was investigating a crash site this morning - though there wasn’t much scatter around. I’ll have a closer look next play session 👍

#31805
Pretty sure "https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/31805 - Exiting services glitches headset position - 2/10" has been fixed. Not had a problem with the camera position in FC for a while now (although should say I have been using 2D because of the VR clusterf**k).
I’ve arrived at the Thargoid/Guardian location in the current Galnet story, and thanks to the cloud of Fleet Carriers there I’ve been able to confirm that #31805 appears to be fixed. I believe this also means #31341 is also solved, so I’ll move them to the Closed section unless anyone else chimes in.

The rock scatter in one eye problem is still extant for me, though the black curved screen at the main menu still seems to be cured.

Some rocks not rendering in just one eye, or both? While I've come across plenty of rocks that only render in one eye (very disorienting), there seem to be lots also that render in no eyes. While driving across a seemingly flat plain, I'm all of a sudden climbing an invisible wall.

There’s a separate bug report for the invisible rocks because that affects flatscreen users as well - it’s one that isn’t listed in the OP but you can vote for it here: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/34099

Speaking of invisible rocks...

Has anybody else experienced a wierd, and highly disorienting, "extra" stretch of asteroids in planet rings, which sits perpendicular to the plane of the ring, and pops in and out of view depending on whether you are looking at the planet?

I'm guessing if that is a thing, it might not be VR specific...

When Odyssey released I was docked in an asteroid base in a ring system - I had exactly what you describe, a bunch of asteroids following me out from the ring while having sporadic existence issues.

I haven’t been back to check if it’s flatscreen as well - I also need to check FAoff after undocking from a Station, which seems to have some weird gravity force going on (I’ve ended up orbiting a Station at a huge rate of knots without any input from my ship).

Once I’m back in the Bubble, I’ll give them a check 👍

Wheeeeee! :7

EDIT: When exiting stations in rings here too, by the way. It strikes me that it could perhaps be a parenting issue, with ownership of the rocks in question transferring a couple of times when exiting the mailslot, and them ending up imprinted on you like a gaggle of newly hatched geese. :p
