Odyssey VR specific bug reports - please contribute!

There are so many bugs to vote and only 6 votes to allocate. I really wanted to vote every VR related bug, but it's not possible. I can't even vote for the damn cargo scoop bug introduced with update 10, that is game breaking for me. I truly love this game, but FDEV is really butchering it. What a waste...

@drkaii and all those affected by the brightness issue - it has now been Acknowledged by the Devs 👍

Hurrah for the green tick! 😁

Edit: …and it’s already at position #74 on the chart!

I’ve just submitted this report - possibly not limited to VR but I’d say it’s much more visible in a headset:
When you drop into Glide heading towards a planetary base, you can see the building LOD flickering between levels all the way until you’re about 9km away - at which point it seems to increment correctly. I thought at first it was Z-fighting on the landing pad textures but I think now it’s geometry flickering in and out. Here is the (sorry, rather poor quality) video I attached to the issue report:
Source: https://youtu.be/850_VHlLC00

You can only really see it in the video when fairly close, but in a HMD it’s very noticeable when it’s happening. I’m wondering if this is also happening on distant terrain - the shimmer that looks like aliasing?

I’ve edited the misplaced head and shoulders Holo-me view in VR issue report - the previous report (sorta fixed in Update 9 and eventually marked as fixed) was about the view being missing; in fact, it was due to the head and shoulders being misplaced a large distance behind your view. If you turned around you could see them. The fix in Update 9 brought them back into view without having to do an owl impression but not quite into the correct position as per Horizons.

Seems to me the x/y/z needs a further tweak. Hopefully the issue will get looked at again without the rigmarole of getting another ten* confirmations, but I’d appreciate any time you can spare to add to the report just in case it drops off the bottom of Sally’s list.

*yeah, eleven really 😁

I’ve updated the OP to make our VR issues a bit easier to parse - they are now in popularity order. A Top 13 hit parade? Hopefully not an unlucky number for us 😅 Get them other issues confirmed, you lot! 😁

I’ve also added a reminder about the only issue we’ve got in the overall Top 20 - if you’ve voted for the FSS Orbit Lines problem, that vote could be better spent in the short term on another issue 👍

New issue report: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/47678 - virtual screen resolution - which raises the problem of the virtual flatscreen being quite aliased and no way to increase the perceived resolution. Increasing the desktop mirror-screen resolution doesn’t seem to do anything (it used to change the HUD size but I haven’t checked that recently).

I agree with the request to change the background colour, but last I heard that was one of the things under discussion at Frontier.

Well poo. The Scorpion outfitting camera issue is now marked as fixed even though the paint job camera is definitely not fixed in VR, looking like you’ve just been run over by the vehicle. It was listed in the patch notes for Update 10 but I hoped that my additional comment about it not being fixed for VR would be noted. Buuuut…

It has been marked as “fixed” anyway, so this means we once again have to go through the rigmarole of getting enough confirmations on a new report 😕 Please spare a moment or two to add to it:

Supported.

I've suggested this guy posts his issue in the vr forum as its not an issue specific to the Reverb G2. I'm using a G2 with steam with no problems what so ever since the update, his issues are specific to his setup not the game updates.
That was my thought as well... G2 user here, no shader crashing issues whatsoever...

Although it’s not good news for the user, it’s good news that it’s not a Reverb-wide issue. Hopefully they can figure out what’s causing the crash (like in early Odyssey alpha when one of the Ultra settings was crashing my system during loading).

New duplicate issue: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/47827 - someone else has discovered that on foot is a virtual flatscreen 😅

The VR brightness issue is down to #93, but this issue, which is on the first page, is likely to fix it: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/41372
Filter the issue reports by “Acknowledged” - the brightness issue is at #63 and steadily climbing; it’ll be cool if the issue you linked (currently at #15) will cure it - seeing as it’s in the Top 20 we should get some info whenever the next Issue Report makes it to the forums 👍
