Odyssey VR specific bug reports - please contribute!

That could be the effect but this happens in every FSD jump. Previously, I would sometimes see some glitching or maybe even an hourglass, indicating the warp/SC screen was being slow. But now, the warp tunnel comes on perfectly fine, except for the consistent flash. Again, it happens for SC and hyperdrive when you jump in and when you exit.

I was seeing a brief camera misplacement when jumping into / dropping from SuperCruise or hyper jumps prior to this Update - it’s an old bug that occurred in Horizons for a brief period.
 
I'm going to record it in a little while to see if I can stop it at the right frame. From what I can see, it appears like a super zoomed image of the pip/engine status panel.

You can see how the flashing stops when I move my head to the side. If I push the button to go up to the deck, flashing stops immediately at that point. No flashing up on the deck. Flashing returns if I go down to the hangar.

I know we are warned about the potential harm of flashing lights and whatnot but these are a bit too much.

The FSD one looks like UI-related textures - that kinda rings a bell too, I seem to recall a similar issue under different circumstances.
 
The brief moment of the camera jumping somewhere out of place, when transitioning between "modes", is an ooold issue, that keeps coming back now and again with the occasional update.

Agree, I had seen it before occasionally. What's new to me is the consistency of seeing it on every single jump, both in and out of SuperCruise and Hyperspace jump. The old flash I remember was really brief, like a frame or two long. This one lasts much longer and very annoying, IMHO.
 
In recording the "Station flashing" video above, I continued to the menu settings where "HMD Image Quality" option is still there. I have mine currently set to 1.25x. ie: I can't reproduce this reported issue.

I'm hesitant and not very hopeful in opening an FDev case as many others need to confirm it before they'd even consider it, and I've been very unsuccessful with this.
 
New issue report: https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/51855 - VR HMD options disappeared - apparently the “forums are no help” but I can’t say I’ve seen any posts here?

FWIW, I have a Rift CV1 too and it's still working, all HMD options are there. In fact, even if I boot the game in 2D, Oculus software fires up, as always. Seems to be something with the headset or its fine software or detection by ED, but otherwise, the game runs fine in VR.

That just looks like https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/37825 to me - the momentary viewpoint relocation when jumping into SuperCruise or Hyperspace. I get a very brief glimpse of what I think is my vehicle hangar when going to SuperCruise and occasionally an aft-end view of my Cobra from about 200m when system jumping.
 
Calling out the expiring of multiple reports of the same bug which more than reach the criteria for Confirmation.
This being the rotating Startlight beams in Warpspace when you move your head, there are a couple on the list as expired, without reaching 10, but together exceed 10 confirmations. This is still doing it, can this be restored please.

yep, get that all the time, sometimes a planet, once I saw a station way out in the black. sometimes it's a menu like yours.
 
Just also mentioning that Global tech companies will chase down a bug report from a single individual, not wait for 10 more customers to complain about it. for every customer who tells you about an issue, there are 100 who complain about it to their friends.

Are you describing the rotation effects on all sprite objects in the game?

The last issue report to reach Confirmed status (https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/45586) was eventually closed with the following message:

Greetings Cmdr, Unfortunately, this is the nature of screen-aligned effects so I will be closing this as By Design. Stay safe out there

A previous report regarding smoke sprites was also closed with a similar message. Annoyingly, several years ago during a Beta period the cockpit smoke sprites had their twist rotation locked so they only rotated horizontally and vertically, and it looked much better - so we know it can be done. Possibly too much work for it to be justified?

Agree! You'd think they would look at every single bug report against their product. Here you have a huge, unpaid QA force finding bugs for you but you dismiss them until THEY do more work and find 10 more people to confirm, then vote on the report. And you can't be too helpful, either. I have voted on 6 issues I can confirm happen and that's the limit for me, I can't vote on any more. I have never seen anything like it.
