Official declaration of player bounty.

you obviously do because otherwise you wouldn't go around crying "blablblabla is griefing to me!" even though it doesn't fall under any reasonable definition of griefing. killing thrusters or hull in a conflict zone is essentially the same thing for the player on the receiving end: he will have his ship destroyed and will have to pay insurance. the only difference is that (other than being much faster to do because FDev have no idea how to balance their game) by killing thrusters you have time to send a message to the other player before he self destructs, and i guess it could be construed as a slight insult vs the other player depending on context. but in no way can this be called "griefing" unless you want to change the meaning of the word to suit your illogical arguments

and need i call you on your hypocrisy? first you call out Catnip for "why do you assume XY" and then a few posts down the line you go all "if you do this and that i'm going to assume YZ"

So you can tell me who decides the official definition of griefing? Explain to me who? Is it you?

It was griefing in my opinion, if you don't agree with me that's fine. But you come on the forums to tell me if I have a different opinion what it is I'm "telling everyone how to play" and "crying". Show me where I told anyone how to play. You can all play the video game anyway you like.

And you want to talk about my hypocrisy? I asked catnip why he assumed something. I never said he can't assume, I asked him how.
Then I went and explained the assumption I made and how I came to it. I explained my reasoning. Something that's lost on you.

You're just anyone of these guys who thinks anyone who has a different opinion to you is out of line and shouldn't be posting it. I'll post how I like and I'll argue if I disagree.

Wings will bring so many interesting changes to this game! Come on March. Hoping FDEV gets wings right the first time.

But to just kill his engines like that looks a lot like greifing to me.

Its a game mechanism.
Its in the game.
I do it, or sensors, or both. And I don't need an ARRPEE reason. I don't need a clever bit of dialogue.

If i hunted you down mercilessly and did it over and over again, maybe then I'd consider it griefing.

Apparently your version of griefing is a lot softer and cuddlier than mine. Let not take this off topic though. Its in the new forum rules.

Far be it from me to tell you how to post.. I just kinda saw my brain as I was rolling my eyes so hard at yet again another "OMG Griefing" thing.. (i was being petulant. Sorry)

Hell I would have shot out his sensors if he was opposing in a combat zone without even a hi.

Lets try again, Hi!

How are you?

Hey no problem. I'm not sure why people get so hung up about that word. I understand a lot of people disagree with me about what it is exactly, I think I'll just stop using it.

I just think its overused for what it is. Dont mean to be conflicting. Space hi-5

4000 canisters.
.
Say, 10 seconds to target and scoop each.
.
40,000 seconds.
.
Divide by 60 (seconds per minute)
.
666 minutes.
.
Divide by 60 (minutes per hour)
.
11 hours.
.
.
It would take 11 hours to scoop up that much Palladium. If you get a nice process and cut it down to 5 seconds per canister, you're still near 6 hours. And that doesn't take into account flying in/out of outpost/station to sell when your ship fills up.

Maybe the ships can join up cargo hatch to cargo scoop, so when one ships ejects the cargo, it goes straight into the other ship's cargo scoop?

Even at 11 hours though the total commodity value is what... like 64 million?

So like 5.8 million an hour for some super boring repetitive task. I think that's pretty much how T9 trading works right?

The same Ecco in this clip at 4m20s? Good luck getting the kill....

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zBc65ardfI

Regarding this... the pilot has been very forthcoming about the details of this incident.

Effectively, all of this went down before the pilot joined EITC, before EITC even existed in fact. Also, before combat logging was a reportable offence (not condoning it, just putting the video in the right timeframe)

These days our pilots have a Code of Conduct that are supplemental to the FD Code of Conduct... our EITC rules.

One of the rules on which I am strictest is that we never use exploits... like combat-logging or spamming dumbfires or chaff in-station, etc... and the only exception to this rule is we can alt+F4 if it's to protect against someone else exploiting or some other gamebreaking bug where you're going to lose your ship because the game is not "working as intended".

You can parade the video around all you like... but the footage is not showing an EITC pilot... just someone who hadn't joined a group or decided what kind of player they were going to be.

He's with us now and he's not combatlogged from a fight since, to my knowledge.

Honest to (insert deity) that I am not trolling, This guy genuinely killed me for no reason. So i'm genuinely going to put a bounty on his head.

No he wasn't on the opposite side. He was yellow, Sneaked up on me (Our P2P client was laggy) and he then opened up alpha striking my engines.

Ask yourself this. Why did he not just finnish me off? was he worried about getting a bounty?

BTW he is wanted. that's why everyone on the minimap is red to him.

Easy to jump to conclusions isn't it?

The evidence in that video is blatantly obvious. There is no "Hotkey" for which side you are on (did you see him physically go into his right panel and select a side?) , My signature in his radar was yellow, It means he was not on my side but also not on the other side.

I'm not being a care bear, I am just enacting an opportunity for bounty hunters to deliver actual punishment.

No bingo here.

I don’t care what FD says, I said it looks like griefing to me. Also, why just destroy the engines, the AI does not do that. And if you make a website for all your lore, it’s still griefing to me.
Association fallacy?
Also what about the comm’s at the end? It looks clear to me it had nothing to do with a conflict zone fight at all, and it was because he didn’t answer the Empire/Fed question with enough respect to you “Empires Grace” club.

Full video with context of why I was there.

^^^ Please decide for yourself how this whole thing went down.
The only thing I will add is that I had messaged a commander (not OnePercent) for him to declare if he was Fed or Empire. I waited and got no response. I then followed said commander's wake (you can see I have it targeted) into the conflict zone he had entered to question him again. Upon entering I chose a side (you can see me do this) and went to kill the commander if he didn't answer but he had chosen the same side so I pulled off him. I then noticed an enemy player out in the conflict zone. I approached and noticed it was OnePercent. I had contacted OnePercent 24 hours earlier and upon asking if he was Fed or Empire he brushed my question off and declared himself a sovereign citizen with allegiance to no one except in his words "OnePercent". I didnt follow him nor did I harass him. I added him to a list of commanders to be cautious of and moved on to my patrolling of the system. Upon finding him in the conflict zone I approached him and he seemed to not even notice me coming up on him. I targeted his thrusters and unloaded on him. I then messaged him and also gave him an explanation for what I had done.
I target the thrusters so that I can talk to a person afterwards. If I had not taken out his thrusters he would have been blown up and said he got ganked without comms or something.

BUT truth be told... I didn't care at all that it was OnePercent! I was in a conflict zone with an enemy player anaconda who hadn't noticed me. Anyone would have done the same if they thought they could pull it off. I thought I could, and I did. End of Story.

Having said that, I take absolutely zero offense to this whole bounty thing and I cant wait to log on tonight and have a blast! This stuff is awesome and I hope we can keep everything in game and we all lose tons of credits in the 31 AQ battlefield.

Take a look:

"Someone" registered on our site and started shouting in our shoutbox:

Its one thing to go cry in the forums, placing a bounty on other players head, even lying to appear as innocent victim. I can understand that. But coming to the guys group and disrespecting everyone there? Its just shameful. Its US time, so it was exactly 15 mins ago... 15 hours of pure butthurt...

Here, have a present:

That isn't me! i don't have time to troll someone's webpages, I have no problem with EITC, Read my initial post, did it sound like I really cared about dying? NOPE, I just want revenge, How on earth can that happen when I'm currently as busy as I am. Howabout crowd sourcing some bounty hunters?

Top banter right ere folks.

I don't think you understand the definition of butthurt friend.

Buthurt is when you are defeated, Angry and frustrated, But there is absoulutely nothing you can do about it, Plus you are further taunted about it afterwards

I was Angry and frustrated, But I wasn't defeated, I can do something about it. So I will.

You rustled the wrong jimmies. Deal with it. XD

I endorse your decision to offer a player bounty... should be fun.

Can we please all simmer down at this point?

There's been some negativity back and forth at this point and I think we've gotten our points of view out... so let's get back to the game, keep it fun and friendly.

Do come seek your revenge (by proxy or otherwise)... we'll be waiting. :)

Then we are all at an agreement. :D Good.
