I'll give you guys a planet sized amount of credit by actually taking initiative. Too often here I see people looking at Frontier to solve their problems while they themselves sit back or are part of the problem they are complaining about. And we all know the success rate on that one.

Exactly. Pointing fingers isn't going to solve anything... and begging FD hasn't gotten them anywhere for years, either.

As I've said many times before, it's up to those in Open to change the image of the PvP community if they want more players in Open... because the problem wasn't created by PvE players to begin with.

That said, PvE players don't "start fights" with other players, else they'd be PvP players... not PvE.

And why wasn't this advertised around the forums? You folks need to fight against the bad image that the bad PVP people create for you. Show the community fun stuff PVP folks do...and you might not have such an uphill battle with population. Learn to play the meta game and help yourselves out.

Put it in the PVP subforum at least. Don't overlook a resource because of the trolls....or derailers. Better yet, report trolls and derailers to the mods....it really does work!

Fun was had by all is no problem. Fighting for changes that will never occur is just a frustration for all involved.

These two examples are PvP done correctly...at least within the design of the game. Not saying that griefing or ganking isn't allowed, but the way to the positive side of the PVE community is with these types of events, where no one is getting ganked or griefed...because everyone understands the rules.

I'm just sick of upstarts who come into these discussions with their very large egos thinking they're going to somehow "educate" players who've been involved for many years now with their hyperbole trying to constantly derail threads because they've not gotten their way by begging daddy FD to throw everyone into Open for more barrel fish.

All they offer is tripe and nothing more. Hell, I have more respect for Phisto Sobanii, who at least attempts an olive branch.

I've nothing against people who choose PvP as their path... and as I've outlined, PvP players lose nothing from the proposal- they in fact gain a more populated universe in return.

I've yet to see a proposal from the PvP community which does not make the PvE community lose something in return for their own gains, however.

People have ideas on how to 'fix' stuff. It's only possible to explain why it won't work without a major game shutdown and rewrite. Now, many are demanding just that. Rewrite the game, redesign it from the basement up, and make it something 'great'. I don't disagree with the idea but I also am pragmatic enough to know it won't ever happen.

The game is never going to live up to a PVP players desires...because the game really precludes direct PVP from the game itself. PVP can be used to push story, or provide events as we've seen above...and has been done so in the past...but that's pretty thin gruel to eat day in and day out.

I see the real point of contention for the PVP players is no PVP buckets in the game.

With a PVP bucket at least they could have some input into the BGS...BUT the shortcoming on that is the BGS moves through the number of NPC's killed and PVP kills would be so miniscule in the scheme of things to be non-existent any way.
