Aaaaaannnndddd.. we have another example of what I frame in my comment.

Joined in 2017 yet they think they know all.

Weird, wonder how I have the Mercenary pack then...Hmmm

I didn't decide to join this wonderful forum until I saw it was filled with interesting folk like you :)

Then why have you nothing but speculation and ego to offer? I mean, clearly- you must see that there's a benefit to gain from my proposal, other than removal?

Instead, you choose to join the masses as a follower instead of a leader. You propose only loss to PvE and demand instead. Do you not see that this path is destined for utter failure?

All these threads with their whinging and moaning make me want to start undermining in Solo.

It sounds almost as much fun as seal clubbing.

Almost, just let me know who you are planning to undermine and I will gladly help you.

If they wanna flag, thats cool. But they shouldnt be able to influence other systems. Trade, Credit farming is just fine. Just remove the influence options if you arent flagged.

There ya go.

Phekda. Lots of Indirect PVP there.

Nothing stopping you from doing that...anyone want to make a new player group?

Your idea is one of the many terrible ideas that have been posted here.
PVE flags has to simply be one of the dumbest concepts there is.

The simplest solutions are risk and reward but that gets screamed down instantly and the real heroes start talking about modding their router waa waa waa.

Second would be producing two servers, one for PVE and one for PVP but with the kicker than you cannot dance between the two when the mood takes you. Separate save files, no crossover, no safe mode to BGS ninja. This we get told it cannot work because of how bad the design of the game is and how P2P etc etc etc. Like we don't realise that, we assume they would have to do more to make this game work. Which is unlikely seeing as they still havent fixed bugs from a year ago.

But neither is going to happen, this game will continue its swan song and people will continue to defend the DEV's until the day the servers finally go dark.

PVP players will continue to ask for basic MMO / Multiplayer features.
PVE players will continue to see PVP as a real life crime.
Solo players will continue to get upset that cannot have group features.
Ziggy will continue to Explore

This man tells the truth.

Basically it comes down to.

I WANT TO BE A SOLO PLAYER WHERE NO ONE CANT TOUCH ME, I CAN DO MY OWN THING AND NOT BE EFFECTED BY ANYONE ELSE! While I attack this whole player groups faction!

GIB ME FLEET CARRIER!

Exactly as the devs desired...that's the point you guys keep missing! LOL!

Since flags are already part of the game...a PVE flag system is not a bad idea.

I am always looking for a way to shut down Mobius. No player should be responsible for the player experience of 40,000 customers.

So, a public group with pve flags would be the best idea to allow Mobius to shut down....

No need to mess with Open...just use public groups (like in Diablo 3) and off you go. No harm no foul to anyone.

oh...and, obviously, keep the game design that all players actions count from whoever they decide to play with.

I'll give you guys a planet sized amount of credit by actually taking initiative. Too often here I see people looking at Frontier to solve their problems while they themselves sit back or are part of the problem they are complaining about. And we all know the success rate on that one.

Thanks!

Wanna play sometime too?

Weird, I thought you joined the forum with this account when your main posting account got banned.

Player Factions = NPCs someone got to name. Big whoop, not exactly game changing and available to be supported / attacked in Solo
Power Play = A meagre NPC war system we can join and grind in for no real reason whatsoever - also available in Solo
Squadrons = A system that's only got a name and not any core features. The community is having to tell FD what to do with it (but you can have a Squadron of 1, whoopee! /s).

How is any of this "MMO" worthy?
"Group" features you don't need other players for and can use alone, how is this "encouraged player groups"?

And how does it help with "leadership" - because gamers will do what they want to do, regardless. I believe the expression is "herding cats".
Plus you don't need these half hearted features to organise anything in game, Hutton Truckers seem to have managed (to name but 1 group that are doing well).

Facebook / Reddit has done more for social interactions and groups in the game than Frontier has.

I know I'm late here, but you're wrong about gamers doing whatever they want regardless.

I run a small group of around 16, including myself. My group has had its ups and downs and we've gone from 10 members to 40 members back down to 16 since we were created back in January 2017. However, despite all that, every time I've told the guys in my group to do something in Elite, they've buckled up and done it. Leadership is only meaningless when nobody respects you, earn a person's respect and they'll follow you into a god damn fire.

So maybe elite doesn't have the best group play functions, maybe that's something FD are trying to fix (asking for community input is a good thing, you're an idiot if you think otherwise) but if you, for one second, think that groups don't make Elite a better game and that there is no point to leaders in elite, you're clearly insane.

Ding ding ding, a winner we have :)

Along the same lines, you know how Ed always gets targetted during his live streams? He goes in open and sure enough within minutes he is facing interdictions, followed by a rebuy screen. And some of the PvPers chuckle. As if thousands of potential players seeing Ed exit the game in disgust after venturing in Open is helping their cause.

If I were a PvPer I'd have formed an Ed's Private Babysitter Escort and protect the man live on stream. Instead of seeing Ed deflated short lived open adventure, you would see him whooping while the baddies are taken out. You would see the fun in coordinating with other players. The potential players might want a piece of that action.

On second thought: fighting against a bad image is a service, not a requirement if that bad image is based on stereotypes.

My brother loves to stream ED, but he does it in a private group because he noticed the amount of "stream sniping" of twitch streamers that he himself watched.

Multicrew could be fun. I’ve taken more than a few folks out in my FDL for joy riding and PvP orientation.

Doesn’t have to be that though - just modded me up a Python for mission running.

I will say that I'm quite surprised at how civilized this thread has become compared to the earlier pages.

Also, the invitations to join with other forum-goers is an enticing prospect, though the invitations weren't directed toward me specifically (Just humoring the idea). However the last few times I have played have been me taking part in the torturous, neverending quest for materials. And mining... Good lord how boring that is. And FDev had to go and lock an engineer behind it. I'm not one to drag others into that.
