ostrich challenge not working

ive released around 100 3 star ostriches in the wild but they keep saying i released zero.

This might be a bug, but it may also be that you misunderstood what the "3 star" ment. (I am not saying you did, it's just when the first "star" challenge came, I thought 3 stars ment bronse )

These are the stars that count towards the challenge

Finding it so hard to get those stars on ostriches. They're at 100% on all their needs and I still only had one 3 star Ostrich to release so far. Does it just take time?

Ye it just takes time. I started preparing for this challenge last week, breeding loads of ostriches. And it's only late last night that the first ones got 3 stars. (I think that is the reason the progress went from 1% to 30% in a few hours, lots of people started to get 3 star after a few days)

They changed the amount of ostriches down to 10,000 from 200,000. That might be why it jumped from 1% to 30 so quickly. (It was mentioned on Twitter a few hours ago)

Too late. I already released all my ostriches last night because of the slow progress. It also got too boring to babysit 100 ostriches while just waiting for them to grow older - even at fast speed. That challenge was not very well thought out, I’m afraid. From 200,000 to just 10,000...

Oh damn, didn't even notice! :O well that explains it then and it make sence, for an animal that gains stars as slowly as the ostrich, releasing 200k of them would have been almost, if not entirely, impossible!

It's an easy misstake to make if your not used to how the challenges work
A tip for future challenges is that your animals slowly gain stars while in the tradecentre (but that only works if they are from the zoo and you continue playing that zoo). That way they can gain stars without dying. The only downside is that your tradecentre will be full and you wont be able to buy anymore new animals for as long as you are working on the challenge.

Oops! I didn't even realize there was a challenge on this week. I know my ostriches in my main zoo are very prolific. I will have to see if I can participate tonight.

Yeah it takes a lot of time for them to get three stars, but this week's silver and gold thresholds were higher than previous weeks for some reason. Looks like compared to other weeks, this week's challenge was easier for some people despite the 10 000 goal. I released almost 50 three star ostriches and it still wasn't enough for gold.
