... but got smart and stopped bounty hunting in it.

Doubtlessly a wise decision, this is clearly not the ASP's best role. However, mine is somewhat tuned up and decently armed, and sometimes I just can't resist getting my daily dose of violence :D

Although the ASPX does stand her ground whereever she must, I'm not too fond of flying it. It compares to the FAS like an ox and race horse - while the ox is clearly better at hauling heavy stuff, you bet it feels a damn lot better to ride the race horse

I'm rediscovering the ASP-E. Done a save reset and the ASP-e is just so flexible it's crazy.. Love the view from the pilots seat and the ship kits make it look nice!
Flight model is a finicky thing though and it still drifts like a boy racer on slicks in the wet but I can handle it.

Currently about to go mining to unlock Selene but I use it for everything including combat. Decent armour and module reinforcement and she's quite a sturdy thing tbh. A rate life support for if the canopy does get smashed to give you plenty of breathing room so to speak and your golden. Just need to unlock ms armour lady to really make it a beast now.

A few backyard mods on her now :)

I’ve just joined the AspX Owners Club.

I was looking for a dedicated explorer and weighing the advantages and differences between the AspX and DBX. That was until I bought my Type-6. I was blown away by the fantastic VR view from the Lakon cockpit! Choice was easy then, AspX! And its view is even better than the Type-6!

I love my Type 6, but even with a bunch of A rated and engineered modules it still no where as my Asp. It’s such a great ship. Need to be anywhere in the bubble quick, jump in the Asp and it eats up the LYs. My Python is as range boosted as is about possible prior to the update but the Asp still has it.

what do you use your AspX for?

Decorating it to scare the [substance that has to be substituted] out of gullible NPCs.

Her uglyness, the Beast of Burden:

I know, i know, this won't pass as a Beluga in disguise, but still capable to carry a bunch of rich passengers to some unknown places far out where noone watches them getting jettisoned.

Hallo fellow AspEs.

I can't really say I'm too fond of her looks, or the sounds she makes (seriously, this ship needs an exhaust kit or something), but she makes up for it with sheer functionality.

My ship isn't highly engineered (max jump only 42 LY, full tank 39.5), and I don't have a ship kit or anything, so here I am doing something I do all too often: getting way too close to a bright blue star. I seem to be attracted to the things.

I've taken this proud girl halfway across the galaxy and back! (I emphasize that because the only other time I got to the core was in a Cobra and I blew it up in some rings on the way back.) While I was out in the black I took a long break from Elite, about a year and a half of barely touching the game. When I got back I had a ton of exploration data and ended up buying a Python pretty quickly, and a Type-9 after. I'm still engineering the Python, but it's mostly A-rated, but we're here to admire hot Asps!

So without further ado, here's Urania navigating me through the heavens to collect mats for that Python :p

Red dust and sweat.

Cinnabar planet, searching for mercury.

Gettin' the goods while they're hot at this refinery station

More recently my girlfriend and I have been exploring the Orion Molecular Cloud regions together. Exploration doesn't have to be lonely!

After playing for a few years now, Asp and Python are still often my go to ships. My Asp was the ship I took to SAG A for the 1st time in 2016

Presently running passenger missions in mine for MEFs.
Whenever I jump into this thing after a while, I keep messing up station approaches due to its sluggish and drifty maneuvering...

Kinda like it anyway, mostly for its jump range and the ability to travel 500+ ly without a fuel stop.
Still wish they'd still clean the windows at gas stations :D

I recently got mine a few days ago and love it. Unlike some, I love the sound of that engine; lots of character and personality :)

You aren't wrong about how 'drifty' it can be, especially on approach to the mailslot (from either side but especially outside), and it gets a little interesting when you come through the slot and your pad is immediately down below you LOL. Have to smash the brakes and go 'where's that pad?? Oh, greaaaat" and hope another ship isn't right behind me lol.

I did my first Felicty FSD range upgrade and am in the low 30's with my set up for jumps. Tooled around Sol for the first time which was so much fun for me.

Engineered thrusters of the highest type you can cram in and toggling FA on and off you can fly its stubby wings off.

Im never gonna sell mine.

Love the Ship .. does everything I need and more, however am I the only one who worries about the lack of health and safety in the flight deck ! That drop to the lvl down, and no safety rails !!

Maybe in the future common sense has returned to mankind and all the health and safety reps fly Cobras and Sidewinders, as they have no stairs or ladders.

I agree, this is a great ship. Definitely the best ship for my personal play style. I've flown the Adder, Cobra Mk III, Vulture, Orca, Type-7, Python and the Anaconda. My Asp Explorer is the one I always come back to. Still grinding rep to try the Imperial Cutter though... now THAT looks like a great ship!

I’ve acquired a second AspX for use as a dedicated miner. Looked into the Keelback, Type 6 and AspS as miners, but the AspX is the least expensive ship for mining without serious compromises.

Here’s my new mining barge, Lakon Spaceways Asp Explorer “Pristine Ring” LA-07A. Went for a heavy equipment appearance with this one. Caterpillar earth mover yellow and the AspX ship kit big spoiler.
