Up up and away! No seriously how awesome would it be that you could fly forward, but not as fast as flying upward. So in your cockpit you have to look upward to see where you're going. Otherwise it's a great ship!
The pilot seats are all able to go into a reclining position, and panther clipper captains are some of the most relaxed folks there are.

I'm not sure but I would make an educated guess and suggest that if you pledged almost any amount of money you would be considered a backer.

Ahh the good ol' Panther .. I remember seeing them in the shipyard thinking "it's going to take aaaaages to get one!", then finally getting one and - after many days staring at the bulletin board waiting for crew members to employ - proceeding to amass the fortunes of Apple :cool:.

Had a lot of fun with the Large Plasma Accelerator too. That beast got the horns sprouting out of my head on many occasions!

Dear Mr. Braben,

I cant wait to have more information about the Panther. We all know its coming and it looks like the ultimate trading ship. Can you spoil some details or updated art of this beast to make the wait bearable :)

Also guys from the community you are welcome to share any info we dont know already :) Speculation is also a way to calm my hunger for this awesome space brick.

I fear it'll be nerfed.

Back in the day you could forget about guns and just stuff it full of shields. All other ships were just flies on the windscreen. :cool::D

It only had one weakness. The acceleration was so low c.f. the other ships that if you landed on a heavy planet, it was possible to get into a situation where G > ship's max acceleration and you couldn't take off.

edit:

Oh and the large plasma accelerator didn't do what it said on the tin. I tried scaring a number of planets with it, and for all that I fired it in atmosphere over one of their cities not one of them cowered in fear :(
