it concept art. kalm down people, and models can change no matter if they are finished. most models come in separated parts.
You can tell that a lot of folk here have no clue what goes on in the art world and how it connects to games dev.

We are talking about the art at the "painting on a canvas" level here. This is where there are no limits. Imagination runs wild. Of course things look super-exciting!

But it often proves to be impractical to recreate in the game itself.

Take any game I can guarantee you that the concept art looks radically different to what ends up being in the released product. I learned this when I was 12.

I think more accurate would be to call it fan art.
No, it's concept. That is official ED material. It absolutely has at least been considered.

But not all concepts, in fact, most concepts do not, make it into live. This is what a lot of people seem to not understand.

unless you have blender :)

you can do the concept art and the model in one package (EVEE).

model downloaded for animation tutorial.

If you mean the Panther Clipper in the video, like I said, the author writes that it is their model made out of various ship parts in reddit thread, and not based on original FDev design because they didn't like it.
I'm talking about the painting that Rubber posted, fret not.

Been quite careful to say "assuming the video model is real" when discussing that specifically.

In that case the video's author needs to make that clearer on his video, at least by updating the video description or pinning a comment.

The video itself did not make it clear in any manner that it is a fan design.

I'd go with the Clipper...
...but I'd be thinking of the python class cruiser.
The Alliance Sentry, the most maneuverable of the cruisers with decent defenses, but being slightly less armed than the Anaconda with 1 class 4, two class 3, and two class 1 hardpoints.

looking at this again, im not sure....

The front right quarter looks like someone took a slice of vulture and stuck it on, the rotational thrusters are blown up Keelback thrusters, the spoilers looks like its off the type-10 and its a Zorgon ship with the lakon type-7 canopy

Mat does good work, i love his ship scale videos over the last year and he has given us with this more the fdev have when it comes to the panther clipper, this maybe be very early concept but the 'Cut & Shut' nature of this leaves me saying "not even fdev are that lazy in design"

I hope if it ever arrives that we get something more like the other concept art we are seeing, certainly aspects of this i do like and would be happy to see added to any 3rd draft of the concept

I'd actually like something too big for the mail slot something you have to arrive with then ferry over cargo.... Size 10 FSD, & cargo racks

After posting that I realized I just described the Mamba.
Also a Zorgon ship. Just wait - they'll surprise us all and release a Panther Clipper that's just a Mamba scaled up to exactly fill a large landing pad. A fun new sport will become scooping up medium ships between the pylons.

Again, you just described a fleet carrier filled with cargo and shieldless T9s.

Hoping it'll be a Zorgon Peterson vessel, myself.

Lakon fill the utility trader slot nicely IMO; I think a luxury trader from ZP - in keeping with the high-end FDL and Mamba designs - would make the most sense and round out ZP's line-up nicely.

What If.............

Fleet Carriers are essentially mobile space stations...... what if the Panther Clipper could hold a couple of ships and act as a mobile Orbital station? I micro fleet carrier that fits in the slot and can be landed but occupies every inch of the slot and pad, still requires Tritium but flown in a regular manner.

It Could hold a Medium & Small ships, have just a shipyard manager, Stellar Carthograhics and Pioneer Supplies & for the owner only. Suddenly the DBX explorers have a little mobile base of their own without the need to spend 5billion

Better then just another cargo ship
