Panther Clipper? Pit-Con.

What I mean is, where did FD start from? From a mechanical standpoint it looks like Prometheus but with a second articulation joint connecting the engine pods.

Notice that in both the Pit Con pic and the concept art the rear and front engine pods are spaced the same- that is the front pods are set apart and would fold up.

What is Pit Con. Is that official art?
 
I wonder if enough stuff pivots and articulates for what I'm assuming to be the front thruster to drop down below the rear thruster while in flight.
My guess is both engine nacelles (also the one in front) rotate the same way, between regular flight and landing. Similar to the Mandalay's.

I read that again... completely misunderstood your comment.

Yes, it's a very valid point. On the Alliance ships I think the engine pods are slightly offset so that thrust mass from the front one doesn't hit the aft. Here it would make sense for the offset to be on the vertical axis, hence the swingarm.
