Unless they get fiddly with moving parts - which is always ok with me, I like those.It can't get any bigger than a T-10 anyway. From what I can see its a more streamlined T-9 thats slightly longer, leading to me to guess its a faster T-9 that carries more than a Cutter at faster (than T-9) speeds (say 1.5X).
I think you're right though, assuming they keep the spiritual intent of the ship intact. The Krait Mk. II is barely recognizable - except in shape - to its original intent as a fighter-craft. They may very well build the Panther into something more than a vast cargo hauler. It certainly has the looks for a deep space explorer (in my opinion).
However it goes, new ships are always good.
Especially when the last ones came out...how long ago?
Hope we're not about to start a development cycle on ships similar to SRVs.
