Passenger cabin problems

Well that's a problem, I can see that right away, not being much of a passenger runner I wasn't aware of that, it seems the mission board is truly bugged then.

The wiki seems to imply you can split groups;

This seems to be where things have gone pear shaped.
You can split group transportation missions but I'm doing personal transportation missions. Personal ones can't be split and must all fit into 1 cabin.

Damn - that system has been saved so I guess we can't investigate there - guess anyone who actually wants to investigate rather than guess will have to try somewhere else 🤔

Yeah that system got saved in the middle of me jumping. I'm close to maxing out another station in another system. Gonna retry there and hope.

Ok that doesn't seem to be implied by the wiki, it never mentions group missions, it's only referring to groups of passengers, here's the full paragraph;

All VIP passengers will occupy an entire cabin regardless of how many members are in their party. They will occupy the cabin until the mission is completed or dropped. Non-VIP passengers are housed by seat rather than cabin. This means pilots can carry multiple groups in one cabin or even split the groups among different cabins (having the same class).

So something needs updating somewhere.

I have seen it said you can split economy class groups up between cabins but not business or VIP, so definitely needs updating if that's the case.

Ah, I just used wrong wording. When I said group transportation I was referring to Non-VIP passengers and when I said personal transportation I was referring to VIP passengers. I've tested it, VIPs cannot be split up.

I simply refuse to believe the party is bigger than 54. It just doesn't add up.

Could be more than that - I seem to recall missions for 108 a few years back - they weren't possible (but at least with the old UI you could tell).

edit: but equally IIRC the UI doesn't report requirements very accurately, so it could be something else

Business class cabins do NOT go higher than 16. I physically cannot get a bigger cabin because a bigger one doesn't exist.

Would not surprise me if FD had put missions in that were not technically possible to do. Someone setting the RNG value up to 32 because economy can go up to 32 but not considering that higher class cabins have reduced sizes.

I hated the UI change where you can no longer see the requirements for missions you can't take. Its so frustrating.

It started with Web 2.0 and just got worse, hide things away from users in the name of cleanliness and simplicity, with the result being interfaces that are useless if you want to do anything outside the basics.

Yeah - the UI just needs to tell you:
  • What cabin class
  • How many passengers
  • Are they illegal

And it manages to show one of those (without jumping through hoops, if at all)

Going to ask support, feels like I've tried everything.
EDIT: Forgot if I mentioned it before or not but now I'm on another station and the bug is persisting.

Personally I'm finding the more annoying missions are the ones where you get the passengers to their destination and the refuse the leave until you abandon the mission. Ugh.

Untrue - all Starports have L pads. Which means you are at an Outpost or Settlement. Probably not causing this, but a useful data point 🤔

edit: On the bright side it means you don't need to go near a conda - phew :)
Mb, yeah it was an outpost but I would've much preferred a conda rather than missing out on 50 mil missions.
