Pawing at the Planetary Bell

First interesting discovery of the day, a Gas Giant with water-based life!

What connection are you on? I can't seem to stay connected to your stream for long without it starting to buffer and such, been like that many days. Could be on twitch's end, but it's certainly not my end. (75/75Mbit)

Comcast, high-speed. 120+ mbps. I keep a laptop up connected to the stream since I use ShadowPlay (potential cause of issues for others?) and ShadowPlay requires the game to be full screen. So I have the laptop up for the chat/browsing. Stream runs fine for me, with about 15 seconds of latency.

Made it to Destination #1! The Skull and Crossbones Nebula. Saw my first Black Hole. (First)Discovered a handful of Supergiant Suns on the way. Found some planets within the nebula not discovered yet. Of course most had been already. I suspected as much. 15kly from home and off to the next great adventure!

Here's a sea of fire for y'all to enjoy:

NOW ON TWITCH! - Please support my endeavors by watching me!
Tell your friends!
As always, I'm open to tips and suggestions.
And apologies, but I don't have a cam/mic. :< I don't know if the sound will even work.

What lengths I will go to, all in the name of murdering that red dot...

What do you mean that's a sun and I shouldn't catch it?

I'll burn? Oh...

I am dedicating this thread to my galactic exploration and my neverending chase of pretty lights... I am looking for the perfect system to call home and so far, I've yet to find it. I am more than willing to share all of the other neat finds I happen across, though.

Disclaimers: I use an Advanced Discovery Scanner. I will be exploring long enough that my name will appear on a great many celestial bodies so I am not worried about anyone discovering anything before or after me and selling the info first. I also surface scan every core star after I jump into the system, along with promising worlds such as Earthlikes, Water worlds, various interestingly-colored planets and the like. I figure that if I at least scan the core star and any neighboring stars, I can help other players plan their jumps and fuel scooping accordingly.

I am open to suggestions and tips!

For now, have my current experiences:

I started, of course, at LHS 3447. From LHS 3447 I travelled to Smethells 56 where I found a lovely ringworld with 3 high-activity RES zones and an orbiting Federation-aligned station. Perfect for bounty hunting. It was here that I taught myself some basic combat skills and working with other ships to take down high-value targets. I upgraded from my Sidewinder to an Adder and then to the Cobra Mk. III. Outfitted with nearly 5mil worth of equipment, I set off to explore. Here are some images from my journey toward the With Head Nebula.

I explore in open play, so if you wish, feel free to send me a comm! Username is the same.

Two suns right next to one another. Nothing too incredibly special judging by other posts, but it was my first encounter. Wouldn't be my last.
Just a pretty composed ringworld:
Massive amount of rings on this old dwarf. Once a sun! Still considered so, it seems. A sun with rings! Whodathunkit?
A system with six stars.
A muddy water world.
A variety of stars in this system.
I loved the colors on these rings. One of my more unique discoveries.
This. THIS. This nearly destroyed me. I entered this system THROUGH the sun on the right. I physically witnessed myself passing out of it as I powered down from frame shifting. I barely escaped with nearly 150% on my temp gauge. And I thought I had to watch out for neutron stars, sheesh...
A fat ringworld. So far it broke the thumbnail in system view.
An earthlike with a moon just like Sol system. Was rather refreshing to see.
2 Earthlikes in one system! Future tourist destination?
Massive ringworld #1. I was impressed by it's sheer size.
Then I found this: Massive Ringworld #2. The system already sported a rather large star, but this world's rings stretched much further than the star's diameter.
It. Is. HUGE.
And very pretty from above. Look at all those rings!!
Then I found this guy. A very pretty multicolored ringworld with interspersed rings.
A closer shot.
At the risk of my life. I flew full throttle in between the rings. I lived. I did not get chucked out of supercruise. The transition was smooth from one side to the other. Cheers to Frontier for allowing such a feat and not making the entire space occupied by the rings a solid object.

I will be the first to admit that I know very little about the Elite/Frontier universe. I never played any of the previous games and I haven't read all about every feature like I should. But I am having fun and that's what matters, right? If anyone has any helpful information to guide me along, don't hesitate to share.

Some Great Pics there! I especially liked the one where you flew between the A-F star.

Fun shenanigans in outer space tonight~

First, this ringworld where the rings looks somewhat... Idunno, angled down? Almost looks like a tutu.

My first encounter with moons in close proximity to the parent planet's rings.

One of them looking like a glazed over eyeball... Scary. Wonder what caused this. Massive tectonic activity?

This neat Class IV Gas Giant!

HEY GUYS I'M A PLANET HURR DURR.

I saw one of those red gas planets on my last trip too, they are beautiful, my favourites. Never seen moons placed like that near the rings, that's weird :)

I'm not too big on long travel times to got to far away suns, but all of the interesting bodies in this system were at the furthest sun. That particular Class IV alone made it worth the trip. There were also two gas giants with water based life and a water giant! Glad I made the effort.

Updated the original post a bit. Can't do much at work but I'll spiff it up some later. Will try to keep an accurate daily log and current position/last known system location.

Nothing incredibly interesting during last night's journey. Some fun looking gas giants with water based life though. And a couple of supergiants, one being an O Class!

Heading to a convention next week so my participation in the game will wane for a little.

Fun discoveries tonight. A system with 4 Water Worlds. A Class A Supergiant with 3 Class V Gas Giants, a Class A Supergiant almost 500 solar radii...

Pics later!

Here are the pics from my last leg.

This Class V Gas Giant that had to have a horrible surface temp:

Seeing this after jumping in and realizing the two other suns in the system could have roasted me had I not jumped in a safe spot:
