Is it pay to win?
In terms of Odyssey, no.
In terms of Horizons, maybe.

jams wad of 20 Euro through screenBest to start saving up your pennies in case Frontier make PP 2 ARX to early access.
Oh so you just assume then. From the Update site: "A ‘Pre-built’ ship package will include instant-access to a pre-fitted ship, a ship kit, and a paintjob – and will typically be themed to match an activity within the game. For example, if you’re looking to jump into the current AX conflict against the Titans, the AX Combat Jumpstart package will give instant access to an Alliance Chieftain with all the necessary modules to go straight into the action within the maelstrom."
If it does NOT come with engineered modules, this is a lie. You do not go into a Maelstrom with unengineered ships. (Except of course the Top 1% Pilots who do this to produce Youtube Videos but i doubt they target the Top 1% of Pilots with this.)
Python is only available if Horizons 4.0 Live. Not legacy. Paul confirmed on the other thread. Is it pay to win?

Though they'd have to fix https://issues.frontierstore.net/issue-detail/56174 before that became a selling point for people, of course.Take this scenario: you buy a new account, and then buy A-rated Python Mk1 in store. If you start the new game with this ship, you now win the right to seal club all the E-rated Sidewinders the new players fly around the starting systems

Well not really. Frontier are playing hard ball, they’ve noted the demand for new ships and thought of a way to exploit that demand short of going down the company that mustn’t be named route.Ohhhh u cynic you hehehehe
You think a new player would understand the current state of engineering materials in Elite?new CMDR would start with a half full mat inventory
Oh come on give it a break.Oh so you just assume then.
That's what I thought![]()
And not if they don't pay up.Python is only available if Horizons 4.0 Live. Not legacy. Paul confirmed on the other thread.
I will give it a break when I will be 100% sure what they meant.Oh come on give it a break.
They OBVIOUSLY do not use specific wording so they can wait out the reaction of the Players. It is the same with "Adjusting" the Store prices. If they were gonna lower the prices they would not use "Adjusting" cause they could easily farm points with the community if they said "lowered" instead if that was the case.
