Mm. I'm not sure what to make of it. It's ... giving Financial Desparation. You guys okay there?

Do us Founders get early access too? Is the ship complete? Are we paying to essentially alpha/beta-test it and iron out any geometry issues (because, we kind of already paid to alpha-test the game)?

From the Update site: "A ‘Pre-built’ ship package will include instant-access to a pre-fitted ship, a ship kit, and a paintjob – and will typically be themed to match an activity within the game. For example, if you’re looking to jump into the current AX conflict against the Titans, the AX Combat Jumpstart package will give instant access to an Alliance Chieftain with all the necessary modules to go straight into the action within the maelstrom."

If it does NOT come with engineered modules, this is a lie. You do not go into a Maelstrom with unengineered ships. (Except of course the Top 1% Pilots who do this to produce Youtube Videos but i doubt they target the Top 1% of Pilots with this.)
Oh so you just assume then.

That's what I thought :)

And you were doing so well this year FDEV.....

Honestly I don't even understand why. You have so many assets that you could sell in the shop and you choose not to though... (e.g. NPC clothes). And then you do this.... Is a Thargoid keeping you hostage? Blink twice if you need help.

Pre-built ships... where do I even begin. If you really wanted your players to be able to quickly dive into the game, why not just gift credits and mats to any new account / reset account? For example any new CMDR would start with a half full mat inventory (in all categories). Simple.

"Newer players to get involved in the areas they have the most interest in"
*but only if they have cash.

Why even the convoluted deception? Just sell credits and mats for cash in the shop and let buyers really make the ship they want instantly. The duplicity of not allowing player-to-player credit transfers for 10 straight years, because "ze goldsellers".... and then this.

I was just about to login and start my ship logistics plan for Hadad... now I just feel lost.

Its pay to play a certain ship/gameplay. Which for me, with my limited time but cash positive situation, is a good thing. It may have made me play with the Thargoids.

Its not play to win, there is no winning in this game, no end point. No way to force your play style on other people. No method to force people to play in hard mode.

Oh come on give it a break.

They OBVIOUSLY do not use specific wording so they can wait out the reaction of the Players. It is the same with "Adjusting" the Store prices. If they were gonna lower the prices they would not use "Adjusting" cause they could easily farm points with the community if they said "lowered" instead. If that was the case of course.

It sounds like pay for early access to a feature that everyone can get using in game money. I don't see how you 'win' by getting a ship type earlier. It also seems to me that being able to spend ARX on a pre-engineered or set up ship is welcome for a lot of players. Sounds like good plans to me.

As long as there is nothing that affects actual gameplay that you can't get using in-game credits, then it's fine for me: it's a player choice and we are lucky we still don't have to do a monthly subscription.

I will give it a break when I will be 100% sure what they meant.

Until then it's all assumptions, one way or another.

I will wait to see the exact details as these changes roll out, but it could ultimately be pay 2 win if the engineering or rank grinds can be skipped for $$$.

If it is just a standard ship (without skipping the Fed or Imp rank grind) with A rated modules all setup and ready to go, I could really care less about it. That to me is not pay 2 win.

We do not have all the details yet. So I will not get unhappy yet. However it does feel like this could go down a dark path and end up like alot of other games that are fully pay2win. Pay2win for me in Elite Dangerous would mean skipping the Fed or Imp rank grind, or the engineering rank grind and materials gathering to get to the same place as others who did it via normal game loops. Just a warning Fdev, doing that could cost your more current players than gaining new players and keeping the players that have been here for years.

$$$ for early access to new ships or cosmetics I am fine with.
