Perma Loss - How Many?

I would be very happy if we had an OPTIONAL Mode where everyone was playing the same version of Ironman and couldn't swap between the modes once you selected the Ironman mode.

Been asking for it since I first started playing Elite in 2015.
Now I have a free alt I could use too.

For me it's not a matter of self-discipline, it's about wanting multiplayer games to have one set of rules for all players. Resetting my own save is just another kind of self-handicap that doesn't provide the sort of experience I'm looking for in a game where the actions of others can influence my experience.

I'd probably want a separate BGS/game for this mode.

I understand your position. I guess as with a lot of things it comes down to the dichotomy between what we want the experience to be and what the developers decided the experience should be at the fundamental level, with respect to modes, relative risk, etc. within the context of a common BGS.
