Essential! Iconic antelope that should be in the base game.
Also, why is the red-ruffed lemur in the "can be left out entirely?" Most of us, if not all, said it should make it in some form. Same for the takin to be fair.

I dont understand the rankings.
I have not been engaging with the thread but most animals everyone calls essential only to not be there like the red ruffed lemure or the wallaby, so whats the point of asking if they are put somewhere else entirely?
Edit: My bad just looked again to see the list above, makes sense if the tierlist is just the personal ranking but the first instinct is that its suppoused to represent the general conclusion, mistake on my part

After looking at zootierliste, this is a much more common species of gazelle, so essential for me. I love to build habitats based on real life, so I prefer a more well-known species+it's iconic.
The tierlist visual is my own tierlist and opinions however in the main posts under the “community consensus” spoiler it says that hat everyone said (essential or save for pack)
both the b&w and red don’t really feel needed to me, would prefer something new entirely like the aye-aye.
Essential. Even disregarding all of the real-life qualifications this animal has, the Thomson's Gazelle to me is one of the most iconic animals in the original Zoo Tycoon's roster, and I would hate to see it absent from Planet Zoo 2 (I already don't like that they made it a Deluxe Edition exclusive in PZ1). Most important African ungulate after Giraffes, Zebras, and Rhinos in my opinion.
From a zoo standpoint (as opposed to an animal documentary standpoint) not really standout. I'm fine with it returning but I'd also be for a different African gazelle as a base game animal like the Grant's
I would save it for DLC's (I rather have the Dama gazelle in the base game)
Personally, I'd like to see another species of lemur that is mixed with the ring tails, the crowned and blue eyed are pretty neat. But, I think the ruffed lemurs are more important.

Agree with most, while African ungulates are to a degree interchangable, the thomsons gazelle is an iconic ungulate for Africa - so it goes in essential for me.

Another essential, this was one of the most obvious ABC mammal exclusions from base game for a lot of people along with the polar bear, jaguar, and an African rhino.
