The essential hippo species is not this one, but it sure is iconic enough on it's own and deserves to be in the game eventually. I'll say save for DLC.

Pygmy hippo is a pretty cool addition to the game but idk if i would miss it particularly if it wasnt here.

Essential. I've seen these guys in zoos more than I have seen common hippos. I would be incredibly disappointed not to have these guys at launch.

Essential seen them a roughly equal amount as regular hippos so I want both, and honestly after how incredibly viral Moo Deng has been I would be shocked if it isn't available from the start

I personally see the Pygmy Hippo as essential, if for no other reason than to just have both hippos in-game day one... although it'd be kind of funny if it were a deluxe addon again.

If there was a tier between Essential and DLC I'd put it there. It's really not essential, but it's such an easy animal to add if you're already doing the other hippo and I expect it to be in PZ2 at launch.

I'd say essential. They're pretty iconic these days, and it's nice to get the smaller versions of some animals in the base game.

I liked it as a deluxe pack animal, same again. It's a nice animal to have ingame but the appeal overall isn't there compared to the other hippo when talking staple zoo animals. Celebrity animals, meme animals whatever, I am not a fan of these for the internet fame alone.

I prefer this one over common hippo but surely the big cousin can't be missed from a zoo game either.

I love these even more than their big uncles, so they get essential from me.

Hating animals because they became a meme is insane, I remeber the puma-avatar hating on the shoebill for the same reason, memes are not the reason I love pygmys and shoebills, I liked them far before they became memes.

Lions are overused memes every where, better start hating on those overrated cats
