Planet Zoo: Barnyard Animal Pack | Announce

Hey guys it's been a while how's it go-

Certainly an interesting thread to read through...

That aside, while not being big on the domestic train I gotta say I don't hate this? Way too many ungulates yet again and the heavy focus on European breeds over all else is disappointing, but I'm at the point where most of my most wanted animals are obscure niche Oceanian species that aren't gonna be in the game anyway so I'm fine with whatever lol. The chicken is great, love that guy, and I'm actually pleasantly surprised the alpaca made it in - sure, it's probably the most redundant of the lot, but they're infinitely more common than llamas here and I also just prefer them in general. Also looking forward to the donkey and goat (should have been Nigerian dwarf but a goat's a goat), and I'm keen to learn more about the changes to guest-animal interaction!

Also a pleasant surprise to have what appears to be a new temperate Oceania map coming with the NZ scenario! Wouldn't be surprised if that was a response to some disappointment over the map that came with the Oceania Pack being so small. Also both funny and a little sad to see that they have to spam silky oaks everywhere (which aren't native to NZ) because that's the only temperate Oceanian tree in the base game.

Overall looking forward to this! Not what I would have done (still a wild animal nerd through and through) but still has a few animals I'm interested in and will be great additions to my builds, and at this point I'm just happy to see the game's support still continuing. I don't see this as the last pack personally - this would be a pretty flat ending if it does turn out to be the final DLC, but even then it's no reason to throw the kind of fit I've seen from numerous people in this thread. The game's still had a pretty fantastic run.

what is your favourite animal from this pack
I honestly kind of like them all and wouldn't swap any (only change the species I guess). My disapointment in the pack is only based on timing (and would go away if I knew we get more animals in the future).
But I really love donkeys and Alpacas...well, and sheep and goats.... so this pack WOULD warm my heart.

Honestly, I really want to just enjoy the pack, while at the same time wanting a big, positive bang as the last DLC. A throw out of a bunch of meta-wishlist animals. Huge bird pack. Anything BUT this.

...but wait don't these pictures show only base game or the current dlc pieces 🤔
The small faux rocks were added in a later update and are part of the base game.

Well now you'll get it as a blueprint 😂 rejoice.
I for one am very happy with this if it's true. I honestly wish they'd make some more small but useful blueprints like that. It would really save us time.

I want to know one thing, what do you think if these domestic animals are put into the enclosures of other wild animals and used as food? Support or oppose? What you support is feeding live animals (some zoos used to do this, but now fewer and fewer, but in some conservation centers, if they are tasked with releasing them into the wild, they will still do it, and coincidentally, PZ also has you available for release into the wild) animal options)? Or feed the corpses? Or support both. If you are against it, are you against feeding live animals or feeding corpses? Or are you opposed to both?

I wonders where and by who lol
People wanted Farm animals here around. At least I Had the Feeling within the threads. And we became the most obvious and common general domestic species (in case of breeds I must say it is completely Impossible for Frontier to make it right as there are so much different domestic breeds) plus the Alpaca. But Frontier can do whatever they want. There will be always criticsm. And this gets heavier from DLC to DLC. The Most extreme example was the Tropical Pack. Frontier brings 4 of the Most popular species that time (okay wrong Sloth species but a Sloth species) and this was also "wrong".

Also, do you support the idea of releasing these livestock into the wild?
This is the most basic gameplay of the game, but I am confused by the comparison. This is one of the reasons why I have never wanted the livestock DLC.

I’ll say that this forum doesn’t speak for the entire community, on other social media accounts I can see a lot of people have been waiting for a pack like this. While the animal choices wouldn’t be what I or a lot of others would have wanted, I might get more use out of this pack than I would others.

I have been wanting a petting zoo pack for awhile now, and the Scottish cow, chicken, and donkey were all animals I personally wanted quite a bit. Would I have rather got a duck and rabbit compared to some of these? Absolutely.

The free update features and pieces all look fantastic, we are now getting some neat new mechanics.

If this is the final pack I would agree this would be an anticlimactic end to the game, it’s also fine if you won’t buy this pack or if it’s not for you.

I will say I have bought every pack, I can find a use for every animal. I get that no one has to enjoy every item Frontier puts out, but I’m almost happy we got a barnyard pack just for the sake of ending that argument. Petting zoos are a part of zoos, you may not like visiting them but they are there regardless.

AMEN!

This is basically how I feel about it too. Let's wait and see! And hope for at least some more DLC's with real HIGHLY requested animals :D

I think my extreme dissapointment with this pack comes from the possibility of this being the very least DLC we get and the way the game ends.

If we were to get more DlCs in the future I still wouldn't buy this one since domestics are not my thing but at least i would know i might get something i like next or that we would get a more interesting pack to end things other than... Farms.

All I can say is we will see. Frontier likes to be quiet, but who knows we could get special news on the livestream.

I think we could get another dlc. But like I said, we will see. I don’t think this would be how Frontier envisions how to end support.
