It would be a lie if I said I liked the Binturong, don't get me wrong I love planet zoo, making enclosures look really nice and scenic so I can take nice screenshots and share them with the community, it is my jam, but seeing this animal, makes my heart sink, I am so sad, I love these animals they are so fabulous and cool, I feel like maybe it was rushed or something, maybe not enough time, but if it were at all possible to withhold the Binturong model and just give him some tlc, then it would be great, this reminds me of the sonic movie...
This animal also looks kind of like those over fed foxes from the Fox Village in Japan...
I don't have any issues with any animals in the game thus far, I own all the dlc content and yet, I was so excited for this animal and It's not even that doing long fur is impossible, you guys did it with the Giant Anteater, his tail is all long and wavy fur, and the Cassowary even he has long strands of feathery fur on him, so it is not like you can't simulate that... But this pack is specifically ONLY animals and so we don't get a bunch of fun new build pieces which i always enjoyed, we only get the animals, and I know it is only 10$ but if we buy something we expect a certain level of quality, if you put the clouded leopard and the Sun bear and the Binturong next to one another, is the level of quality the same, I don't think so.
Sorry but it really just took me by surprise, every animal has always been so nice and beautiful and I love all of them so far, and it just hurts to see this level of quality, id almost believe it was an April fools joke.

I can understand some of the disappointment in the ear tufts of this animal. I too expressed in a older thread how I thought frontiers talented artists definitely could have done the lion a little more realistically but now Iām used to it and itās actually not to bad. Nothing will ever be as bad as the zt2 vanilla lion but it was designed with a childrenās game in mind. I will say animals with tufts and manes are extremely difficult to replicate to perfection in a game. Also keep in mind that someone sunk a lot of their time getting this animal as good as it could possibly be. Really we donāt know if the game engine hinders the ability to make ear tufts stand out or something else may have factored in.

This is not (only) because the fur (and they did amazing job on the giant anteater). Everything about the muzzle, eyes, head anatomy is wrong. And these ears... It hurts because every other animal in the game is absolutly fabulous.
Do not think it was directed at you, everything you wrote was very reasonable and definitely not rude.
It seems obvious they reskinned the red panda. The Sun Bear also looks like a reskin. Given that this was just about animals, having 7 reskins instead of 5 (which would have been okay if not ideal) and 2 new ones is pretty hard to understand. Itās pretty disappointing given that photorealistic animals was the calling card of this game. I said this elsewhere but Iām having a hard time justifying $10 for this one.
The thing is Paul, that it was so much more going on than the fur, we went into great detail about it, it is really there. Not saying you are not entitled to your opinion. But when you have a chance, try to forget about this post, lol, I know is hard, google a binturong and just look at it for 2 minutes, look at the face, the body, just pay close attention to it. I personally donāt agree about the sun bear. Besides the binturong and maybe slightly the tapir Iām very pleased with this pack and I still want animal packs in the future. I still prefer them (Iām not the best builder)
The sun bear looks amazing to me, almost lifelike. Also if the animations were done correctly, it is such a unique animal in the way it behaves. It can be really creepy when it walks upright, in a fun way.

Giant Panda ... just a childhood thing that carried into my adulthood. I do have to say tho the sun bear is slowly but surely creeping in. I hope we still get a chance to see spectacled bears and sloth bears one day tho...
Itās a beautiful picture but sun bear necks are longer than that. This is the formosan black bear with sun bear colors. Getting the animations right will help, but this isnāt a new model for an extremely unique looking animal.
@HeatherG hi I donāt know if you were commenting on my remark or not but I never told people they couldnāt express disappointment or give their opinion good or bad. I too said and will definitely agree the ears are the main problem with this model. I was only trying to state the fact that from yrs in the zt2 community and watching many talented designers make animals like lions and geladas ect that fur variations are very difficult to create not to mention the feelings of the person who created this otherwise awesome animal.
