🐾Planet Zoo: Tropical Pack arriving 4 April🐾

I mean, why couldn't they have applied that level of effort to remastering the Nile monitor and given us something other than the water monitor in this pack? Because that's essentially what the water monitor is - a remastered Nile monitor. Even the colours are similar.

I'm not trying to be Mr Bummer here, honestly, but no matter how good it looks I still feel incredibly let down that it even exists in this DLC.

Maybe frontier don’t want to remaster old models and they know our request for remaster, so they give us similar species of base game animals. Otherwise, I don’t understand why they choose AWM instead of other more distinctive and colourful monitors.

Personally I think it's easier than we thought, if they updated some of the base animals people wouldn't be happy with one and would want more and more and more until they all got remastered and it's okay to want the game you enjoy playing to look the best possible, the problem that this happens is that they will put less effort into the animals of the dlcs and let's be honest, the quality is quite important, so it would not be profitable for frontier, which in the end is a company like any other (just that this made the video game that we love so much ❤️🦌🐆🦒)

everyone has their opinion and in each one is free to want something in the game, in this case they probably have not chosen all the animals that you have wanted but for others, honestly and personally I believe that in a game with so many creative opportunities it is The least you have to do is close yourself off, I know you like realism and that's fine, but vary a bit and play with everything we have and the OPTIONS we have is the best thing in the world, choosing if you want a little monkey of the Nile in a certain section or put the water monitor, it is much better to be able to choose instead of being forced to always put only one thing because it is what there is.

Abigenius - a fan of the animals 💚🗺️

I think most people would be happy with a gradual update-by-update remaster of most of the base game species.

All the animals we have seen so far just look amazing😻

For this pack I am especially looking forward to the Fossa, they are such nice animals. Last year I finally saw them live for the first time at Duisburg Zoo and that really made me more interested in getting them for PZ than I was before. So I am happy we will get them now:) (Little fun fact, Duisburg Zoo is actually the most succesful Zoo in regards to Fossa breeding and apparently the majority of all captive Fossas today were either directly born at Duisburg or are descendants of Duisburg born Fossas. So without Duisburgs success, they might have been alot rarer in captivity nowadays.
In 2017 they even had 8 Fossa Babys at once (from 3 mothers)

The Red River Hog is also a nice addition. Until they were announced, I didnt think I needed them but now I cant wait to have them^^

Personally I wouldnt have needed a second Gibbon, but the Lar Gibbon is still quite nice and I also prefer it over the Siamang, so I cant be mad about its inclusion. Hopefully Frontier will give us all the coat variations they can have:giggle:

The Asian Water Monitor looks amazing, but I honestly have to say I am not exicted about it at all😅 I am just not a reptile fan, I guess. But its still better than another crocodile🤣 I definitely would have preferred any other mammal or bird over it, but I know others are very happy about getting it, so it dosent bother me at all. Frontier makes the game for a huge player base after all and everyone has differnt needs and wishes, so we all have to accept that there will be additions to the game that we personally dont like, but another player loves.

Now about the Sloth, I am totally fine with the chosen species and it looks awesome. I am an advocate for having animals in the game the are rare or not even in captivity anyways and I really think its great to get such species, since PZ is not bound to the real life restrictions of why ever an animal is rare/isnt in captivity. While I can totally understand why they made it an WE animal it still disappoints me a little. After all the exihibt animals cant be traded online, they cant be moved to another franchise zoo, you cant look at their family tree and they dont even have models for their offspring. While I could accept all that for the insects, spiders, reptiles etc. because I dont really care for them, it already botherd me with the bats, but it feels very unacceptable for the solth. Not having solth babies that actually look like baby sloths is such a pity😞
Hopefully Frontier will update all the exhibit animals, so that they feel more "real" like that habitat animals. And even if they wont make larvae/tadpoles/caterpillars models, that at least the exhibit mammals will get baby models😅

So all in all I am totally fine with this DLC and will, just as always, buy it on release day. Sure, an animal pack would have been better, but as a non builder I could easily always say that🤣
Thanks to easter I will only have a short work week when the DLC comes out and after that I have a week off, so I can really enjoy the new pack☺️

Let’s enjoy animal pack in summer

It's probably referring to how they often become used to people in urban areas in their native range rather than how they'll function in-game. I've never heard of a walkthrough monitor lizard habitat, and the Nile monitor isn't a walkthrough species so I assume the water monitor won't be either.

Asian water monitors have a muuuch better personality than Nile monitors haha. I don't think they'll necessarily be a walkthrough species either, but I wouldn't say that because the Nile Monitor isn't, the Asian water monitor won't be either. ;-)

Hayo Zookeepers!

Kick back and relax as we head towards summer with the new Planet Zoo: Tropical Pack, coming to you on 4 April alongside Free Update 1.13!

Venture through the depths of the tropical rainforest and take a look at the new friends heading your way!

Keep a keen eye up in the trees and you'll spot the Lar Gibbon leaping between the boughs, or maybe you'll even see a Fossa asleep up in the branches of the trees. If you head down to the water there are some new friends to be found too, such as the Asian Water Monitor slinking down the river. And look there, at the edge of the swamp! It's the Red River Hog basking in the sun - it looks like it's having a great time. Last but not least, we couldn't forget our new Walkthrough Exhibit mammal - the Brown-throated Sloth! They'll be sure to sloooooowly climb their way into your guests' hearts 💚

Alongside this, you'll get a range of new scenery items including architectural pieces inspired by places across Southeast Asia, and tropical foliage such as the Rafflesia, Pitcher's Plant, and Epiphytes!

Continue our ongoing story in a Planet Zoo Career Scenario as Tiffany has gotten herself into another pickle! This time, Tiffany's dad bought her a Zoo at auction and left it to her to fix up, and she's hired both Dominic Myers and yourself to help her do so - oh no! Can you help her turn the place around, and what is Myers really up to? Can he be trusted?

The Planet Zoo: Tropical Pack will be available for purchase for £7.99 ($9.99, 9.99€) on Steam from 4 April. If you want to be notified when the game is available, then head on over to Steam and wishlist it now! Please remember that you'll only be able to enjoy the Planet Zoo: Tropical Pack if you already own the base game of Planet Zoo.

Head over to our social media in the run-up to the Pack launch as we see the return of Zookeeper Steve! This time he's heading off on a research trip and is asking for your help in an unexplored tropical forest, keep an eye out there for the animal reveals. You can find us on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. Also, if you missed our ✨special livestream✨ yesterday you can check it out here.

Join us on 4 April for a special charity livestream that we'll be hosting to celebrate the launch of the Tropical Pack and raise money for our friends at Chester Zoo! Chester Zoo is a world-leading conservation zoo that’s carrying out some vital, species-saving work. As a not-for-profit, the zoo ploughs everything into its conservation work, both in the UK and right across the world. The zoo is doing amazing things such as helping preserve Madagascar's rarest forest type, with Madagascar being where our new Fossa friends are from! We'll kick things off at 2pm BST on 4 April on both Twitch and Youtube, and we'll be joined by some friends both from Frontier and from our community. See you there!

We hope you enjoyed this announcement, and we look forward to exploring with you and Zookeeper Steve! Tell us what you're more excited for below ⬇️
Does the Brown Throated Sloth have variations such as a Mossy Variant, and a Spotty Variant, also, are there baby sloths?

Unless you put your animals in a null barrier box and call it a day, no one is a non builder. The game is litterally about building habitats lol.

I really hoping that the Enrichment Items that would be in the Walkthrough Exhibit for Sloth would be stuff that you would see in zoos and also few natural stuff, like in all those photos:

I feel maybe frontier have been use this pic for one of the climbing frames that we can have sneak peek in the trailer:

Of course:giggle: As I am going to marry in July, it could become a great "wedding gift" for me🥰

Unless you put your animals in a null barrier box and call it a day, no one is a non builder. The game is litterally about building habitats lol.
Haha:ROFLMAO: Well, I am a "non bulider" in the way, that I hardly ever use buliding pieces. I mostly built with the habitat fences we have and for animal shelter and guest stuff I use Frontiers pre-made stuff and sometimes blueprints from the workshop. I basically place down the stuff the animals need and call it a day, yes:LOL: (I hardly spent 10 Minutes on a habitat on average, if even)

And actually yes, I can go weeks/months after a new pack without buliding anything new at all when I just play in my main zoo(s) were I simply breed/name/trade/look/manage my animals😝

So yeah, I totally dont see myself as a "builder" just because I sometimes have to bulit habitas myself🤣 I hardly ever use the pieces to built something custom made. Would be totally fine by me if we never got any other buliding pieces since the base game^^
