šŸ¾ Planet Zoo - Update 1.2 coming 7 April šŸ¾

Exciting news and things happening with planet zoo and frontier lately and itā€™s very uplifting news with todayā€™s planet zoo Twitter feed and the mentioned update. With frontier and their willingness to listen to the community planet zoo will be a even more amazing game. I have had absolutely no regret buying a good gaming pc to play this game as up to this point Iā€™ve always played on consoles. So thank you frontier for the great news it means a lot in these uncertain times.

All in all this seems like a very welcome update. Ironically I just uninstalled Planet Zoo to make room for The Sims 4 since the latter is easier to melt away into during quarantine, but between this update and DLC tease I'll probably go the other way again. I suppose it will depend on what the DLC actually is and when its release date will be.

When the update becomes available you will need to load your Franchise Mode saved game with the most research completed and then load into your other zoos. This will sync up the research levels going forward. This only needs to be done once. There is no option to keep the Franchise zoos from having their own research levels with this update.
Thanks for the explanation! I realy hope in an other update you can set the research level per franchise zoo :(
One suggestion could be, the option to have research shared or not could depend on the new difficulty level options that already will have things like refunds and enrichment item depreciation enabled only on hard difficulty.

That is also an option! Although i would prefere it to be an option you can toggle off or on

Great update with so many fixes and changes! Thanks again Frontier.

I wish for the next one you work on reducing the collision area of the animals. It's kind of frustrating that small animals such as lemurs need roughly 1m width space to move around. Same applies for bigger animals but its with smaller and more agile ones that it's more of a nuisance.
If you also make rocks more easily-climbable and increase climbing ability for the Dall sheep (and all caprids to come), cats, bears and potential small mammals, we will finally be able to build realistic and usable enclosures for all these fantastic creatures!!!

I also can't wait to know what is the enigma behind the last tweet!!

That's a good one. I'd post it into feedback, so it won't get lost and can be easily seen by the community managers and the dev.

You guys at Frontier got me actually workingon my relatively fresh re-started and then abondoned franchise again. :D I'm researchin like crazy to re-build what I have now and dive deeper into Franchise in the long run. The constant researching of building pieces got me turn away from it and I saw no point in trading with other players. Now with more detailed genetic and no research-repitition I do!

I agree. It was perfect in the Past but then they changed it for some Reason. I want to see my Rhinos go outside on their own instead of being stuck inside all the time.

This seems like a really fab update - thanks so much Frontier. Quick question for the community though - I hadn't even really thought about audio guides as a tool to increase education rating. I am in game now and can't find anywhere with data on audio guide sales and unlike umbrellas or adoptions I haven't seen any turn up in peeps inventories. Does anyone know if they do appear there? Or can you see people using them in game? obviously this will change with the update anyway but I am just curious if lowering the price of audio guides now might increase my education rating.

This! I couldn't agree more with you guys. I actually made a topic about this issue a few weeks ago...here's the link incase you wanna contribute something https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threads/please-make-animal-hitboxes-smaller.538513/ :)

Reducing the Negative Impact of Staff Buildings
After building a shell around your staff buildings, or placing decorations around them, the negative impact radius will be reduced. The radius can be reduced by up to 50% - to get the full 50%, your scenery rating for the facility must be at 100%.
Will this also work for Water-Filters?

Amazing work, thanks for everything. I know you said the genealogy and DNA parts aren't really needed much but I think that's one of the most interesting bits. Glad it will be more detailed.

^ Yes I'd agree with tropical jungle but it might not be a biome theme so to speak but a scenery theme, Aztec or Adventure or something like that.

TBH as much as I like all those amazing, creative themes, at this point I'd much rather have a behind the scenes pack so we can (more easily) build realistic zoos with actual stables, holding areas, working animal gates etc. than yet another theme park zoo building set. Please don't get me wrong, like I said I really like the themes and what we can do with the pieces, but I just feel like those are more fitting for PC than PZ and I'd really like PZ to get pieces that are way more integral to an actual, realistc zoo first before they added more of the other sets.

So excited to know which animals are included - jungle and tropical stuff is always welcome from my point of view!

I do know what you mean. Iā€™m excited to get any new content but I agree, I would really like to make realistic holding areas and animal housing and that isnā€™t really possible with the pieces we have now. I prefer to make zoos without huge amounts of theming and relying on natural materials.
