Players can have lawful CMDRs and outlaw CMDRs. If you're targeting the lawful CMDR because you know he's the same person behind the outlaw CMDR you're de facto targeting the player.

IMHO, if you've been known to play a prolific ganker (2000+ noobs, I heard), constantly blaster various hatred/twisted stories/... against someone etc in and out of game (I don't know exactly what's going on between Jerry and Akuma, it's mostly in German anyway), make it known that X is your alt, fly in open in Deciat while Spear is on patrol (aka asking for it, setting it up) then it shouldn't come as a surprise. There is a person behind these actions, especially the ones that are happening out of game, not an imaginary pixel-character. There is no right or wrong here, just human nature and a bunch of pixels that went boom. Compared to what we've been the subject of, this is a storm in a tea-cup.
As I said, these folks would do the same on us and I sincerely doubt that anyone of us would throw the salt bucket over this.

A separate account isnt an alias though. In game it would be a different person technically.
I would say depends on your role playing. we keep hearing about role playing here. so why is that out of bounds for role playing. artificial barriers to role playing is not in the rule set. It's a choose your own adventure game. how dare you put a damper on someones imagination. imagine that putting a restriction on someones imagination.
This is all way beyond roleplaying.

And that goes both ways. Pretending that the things you say and do in and out of the game is still this fictionary character number 1 only works when you don't cross the line of what's reasonable. There is a code of conduct, I suggest that folks have a read.

Don't take it so personally you can be easily goaded into admitting your dislike of another player is personal and outside of the game.
