Please slow down the time speed of the game.

+1 i find the time speed too fast, it's maybe one of the first time in a management / building game that i didn't use any of speed button once, the base speed is already too fast, one year is around 20 minutes, i'm always busy selling animals so it's good to make money, but i mean i don't need money if i needed money i could use the speed buttons and enjoying the game at a slower pace the rest of the time.
You can't even enjoy seasons with this speed, i play a temperate biome and snow only last a minute or so.
Also appart for animals with a big longevity (more than 20 years) i would like to spend more time with my animals.

I really hope they'll change it since time passing too fast is an issue to a lot of people... You can't really take your time to watch animals doing their stuff because so much is going on... If game is too slow for you then use speed button, for now I don't think many are using it at all...
I used it only a couple of times in career mode when I needed x amount of guest at the zoo and to speed up research a bit
You basically can't play without using pause button which really sucks

I think the time-scale problem has been blown out of proportion. I too thought it was the problem, but after further evaluation I think it's just the insane breeding rates that are to blame. These animals breed so fast that you have to give literally every animal contraceptives and as soon as you turn a pair off, poof, pregnant! Breeding in a zoo is serious business that is cause for consternation and celebration. In Planet Zoo its literally become a nuisance. I don't think that was the intention and I think it's led a lot of people to think the time-scale itself is to blame.
I hope they don't listen to the fans and instead just fix the breeding rates.

If they lower breeding rates without changing the timescale, as they attempted in beta, animals will die or become infertile before managing one or two offspring

I remember the outcry in beta, when they lowered the breeding rate and sucess chances and it became near impossible to have a successful breeding even once before the animals were too old or died.
Also, the often mentioned 'starving animals issue' is probably less due to ingame logic and more due to time progression. In a larger enclosure (e.g. african grassland) animals (almost) die due to the hunger meter ticking down way faster than they can make their way to the food bowl. How many people have complained about their tortoises starving on the way to their food bowls because they are too slow to reach it despite food being in the enclosure to prevent them from starving? The movement does not seem to match up with the time progression and due to that, the animals are more busy with eating, drinking, sleeping and pooping than social interactions, which is another point, that has often been raised on the forums.

I do think that the birth rate could be tweaked some, yes, but to me, it doesn't seem like the solution to the overall problem mentioned several times in different areas of the gameplay in this thread (and others), which seems to boil down to time just moving too quickly.

Just my opinion, but those are my impressions.

Joining the slow-down train. I hate to literally keep mass producing animals!

I've been googling about this now for a few days and I'm glad to see I'm not alone. Unfortunately, it appears there's yet to be a developer response regarding this.

I agree, time definitely needs to be slowed down. As it is, I play on pause more than half the time to try to keep up with the management and my zoo isn't very big yet. I can only imagine how it would be with a full zoo.

its easy. they dont slow down or at least talk about this in the coming few days then the mass refunds will come in. and thats entirely on them for not adressing problems. will be the last time i preordered something from them. and probably the last time i buy a game at all from them. the communication is aweful.

The game is way too fast. I cant enjoy the game cos the time runs so fast that its not a game but work. Every 5s some major incidents happens or my 10 animals became suddenly 50. Gamespeed must be toned by minimum the factor of 10 or more

I watched the Frontier Stream today and Bo (in the chat) was answering the question if they look at the time issue we discuss here... yes they look at the game time at the moment, but there is nothing else to tell on that yet.

Didn't see they replied on that here, but not to loose our minds here, I figured I should tell you they know about it and actually work on it. 🙂 They sure tell us a resolution when they made decisions.

Please have some patience with them now, it needs some time to get it right.

Then they should make a post or reply in the forum, or as an announcement on Steam. Not everyone has the time to watch streams. I appreciate that you are willing to come let us know on the forum that they have seen the community's issue with the speed of time in the game, even though they made no mention to whether it was going to be changed at all, but that's ultimately not your job - it's the Frontier team's job, and it's not a good look when players have to piece together information from various places that aren't accessible to everyone in order to come to any conclusions about concerns we're having.

If it slows down breeding, then yes I'd like the game to run slower. But I was thinking that the issue regarding the rate that animals breed is a little like the issue that coaster friction was in Planet Coaster. It was debated for ages in PC, too much for some, too little for others. Then an option for the player to change the friction was added & everyone was happy. I think if Frontier added an option for players to change the breeding rate to what they want it would help solve the issue for a number of people.

That's simply not a feasible option for online franchise play with a player-driven animal market. Those who want to churn out mills and rake in money will inevitably set theirs high and those who want the game to feel realistic will be left in the dust which will result in a crippled and broken economy with glaring inequalities and disparity. It's a potential solution to sandbox or offline play, but absolutely not for franchise.

It doesn't need to be in Franchise mode, just Sandbox & Challenge modes.
