Please slow down the time speed of the game.

The time pace has to be changed, rather to be customisable, actual time rate is 1 zoo game day : 3 real sec, this is 1x, The time customization would be at least 3 options to be 1x, 2x (1 zoo day : 6 secs) and mayby 4x (1 zoo dya : 12 secs). There will be people happy with 1x pace, then other people happy with 2x and 4x and so.

About breeding, animals diyng old age, park stuff breaking down etc...all those things are, correct me if Im wrong, attached to the game time path, so if you customize the time pace it will be the same for all the elements involved., eg, the ones who plays at 1x will have peafowls breeding every 4 minutes, the ones playing at 2x every 8 minutes and the ones playing at 4x will have peafowls breeding every 16 minutes and so on...

I love this idea. I also love the idea of a really slow mode where I can build/fly around/enjoy the park without worrying about a million things going wrong. Right now I have to enjoy my park in pause mode which kinda defeats the purpose. This game is super comfy but the speed makes it stressful.

Total support for anything that would slow down time. However, I don't want to see time slowed down in a way that effects the physical movement of animals and guests--just their aging and how often they breed. Honestly it'd be great if our animals have a little more opportunity to get to feeders before dying of hunger/dehydration (as someone mentioned with tortoises--huge issue!!!) and to allow keepers to fill feeders. It's especially an issue in bigger enclosures--I love having huge enclosures for my animals so they have space to run around in, but the keepers move so slowly relative to time passage that they can't keep up with cleaning and refilling feeders. This ultimately forces me to make smaller enclosures than I would ever choose to make on my own.

Honestly, even if this is only something you change yourself in the settings menu that would let some people play with base speed at the current level and other players choose to cut it down (I would be ecstatic to have a few options; maybe some people want 1/2 speed, where others may prefer 1/4, 1/8, etc.) so that everyone can play how is comfortable to them. Of course, I'm not a programmer/game dev, so maybe that's not feasible. Still. Even if it's only offline or sandbox mode, it will make the game less stressful. We play games to de-stress, not to get more stressed out.

Devs/Mods, if you're reading this, can you please respond to this thread? It's super disheartening that there's been no official response. Even if your response is just 'we're here, we've seen this thread' that would be really nice, just to know you're paying attention.

Agreed, I loved the zoo tycoon games and couldn't wait for this to come out. But I haven't purchased it yet solely cause of the time issue and I know it is going to bother me as I also don't see the point in having to pause your zoo all the time. I know some people say the time is fine for them but the point is that alot of people say it isn't. I don't understand why frontier seem to be pointlessly digging their heels in about this. You asked for feedback and people are giving it to you, some thing to control the speed would be perfect. That way if people are happy having it at a quicker speed they can speed up the time, slow it down, whatever.

I find the game simply too fast-paced to play at the moment.

I don't want to be measured on how quickly I can move the mouse across the screen, or read 10+ notifications & act on them before the sun explodes.

PLEASE slow this game down. Like... a LOT.

I just want to have a toilet break while the game is still running. If I do that now I find my zoo empty when I come back because of the litter, the escaped animals and the angry visitors who walked over the staff paths and saw how I torture my animals behind the scenes.

For the record in regards to your "most people" reference I have not seen you acknowledge nor express that you know. In fact your exact words were:

Since those who claim they want the game slowed down also state, quite often, they "want to enjoy the animals" as their reasons for wanting the game to be slowed down it was only logical to presume that your words referenced theirs. Which in another comment of yours you unequivocally stated the exact same thing:

So forgive me for not understanding that you meant to iterate "majority of people who want the game slowed down in the threads talking about the speed of the game (and only those people) want the game to slow down for bonding/enjoyment reasons." That was not made clear in your earlier comments.

Also, I do understand that you don't feel the game needs slowed down as you stated such (highlighted in red above).

In regards to my earlier post where I provided the numbers I did so not so much for you but rather for all those who profess to know what 'most people' want or don't want in the game. Those numbers prove the claims what 'most people' want as being 100% and genuinely wrong. Forgive me if I didn't make that clear enough?
I don't know if you get pinged for this quote, but I wanted to respond here to keep the other thread clean as I've mentioned.

Yes, I don't want the game to be slowed down too much. Right now I'm reading it's 3 seconds? I don't know if this figure is accurate, but if it is, I can say I'm ok with anything from 3 to 6 seconds. I've seen some extreme suggestions which I honestly believe would ruin the game. 6 seconds a day is already twice slower and should be more than enough for people who want to bond with their animals or have difficulty keeping up with zoo management. More importantly, for me, those additional 3 seconds (again twice of what it is now, repeating since people tend to think +3 seconds is not enough) would mean the animals (AI) would have more time to do other things like playing, interacting with one another, etc rather than racing to stay fed and sleeping it off - assuming everything else related to time stays the same, like hunger, allowing more time for other animations in real time.

Echoing OP here! Agreed, time passes way too fast in this game. It's not fun. Can't enjoy the animals growing enough, babies born every few seconds, seasons change instantly, the finances tab fluctuates so fast so quickly it's impossible to tell what you're doing right or wrong, finances tab also doesn't give you a good reflection of the changes you've made NOW and how they're affecting your coffers, etc etc. I could go on. I think the progression of time needs a clear indication, so you can make decisions in intervals that ACTUALLY have a measurable impact in the next time interval (months?). Biggest thing really is being able to enjoy your animals in their habitats.

I didn't even realize it was an issue for me before, but if definitely is. I always play on pause mode, to be able to follow what happens, and I have 5 species in my zoo... I can't imagine dealing with a full zoo !

+1, I definitely support this. Maybe let the game per default on its current speed, keep the actual speeding options, and add 2 "slowing" options ?

They have already added an option to slow the time go in Settings > game > animals > here you can slow down the time. This will only affect your animals aging tho, not seasons or other stuff because it would be near impossible to add such an option from what i understood, but it's already a big tool because it was the main problem i always play with the aging being reduced to the max even if that means less conservation credits (because you trade less animals obviously).

Yeah time needs to be slowed down if someone wants it to go faster they can just speed up the time that’s why they added those options. If we want to slow the time not just animal aging you can’t. Within a few hours my animals are already elderly and I can’t enjoy them.

I've not played a lot since the change, but I've moved all my regular and storage zoos to the slowest speed. It's much better. At its worst, before the patch, I had a big zoo with a few hundred animals and I spent most of the time paused. Now I don't really need to pause at all!

I had no idea, thank you ! I will try it =D

By slowing down the time I just mean how quickly the days and months go by. Just slow it down two seconds is like one day.

Frontier have already explained why this will not be implemented. Since the passing of time affects almost everything in the game, it's not that easy to do, as they would have to change almost every aspect of the game. Or everything would just move in slowmotion :p And why does it really matter how fast the days and months go by? it's only numbers and doesn't really mean anything. The solution they came up with, to slow the animals aging, is a really good one in my opinion and it helps with most, if not all the problems we had before this fix :)

I don't mean to come off as rude, but can you link where they said this? I love the slowed down animal aging, but it is immersion killing to leave the game unpaused for a relatively short amount of time and see years have passed. Imo it's one of the biggest issues with the game.

Not sure they mentioned it in the official update which introduced the slow aging function but i think several dev post here explained more or less this including this one: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/threa...coming-17-december.532566/page-2#post-8188647
