This is the ship of the future, even with automatic fuel scoop :D

It's probably to 4th or 5th time I vote against an autopilot. Clear victory of the no autopilot guys. As usual.

I'll try to remind you of that when one is implied in the game...

"I think there is a world market for maybe five computers". Thomas Watson, IBM president, 1943

And you missed the point.

Unsurprisingly I think you missed the point.
The 'sigh' is because of the ludicrous extrapolation of a simple (and optional) QoL improvement into 'OMG - I WIN BUTTON'.
Makes you look a bit of a campana finis.. which I'm sure you're not when you're not on the internet. x

In the original Elite, there was none of this staring at a dot nonsense.

Its essence was gameplay - not Braben's obsession with being an amateur astrophysicist and forcing players to look at his damn boring endless galaxy for hours on end.

They don't force airline pilots or ship's pilots to navigate through nothing unnecessarily for hours - but an alleged 'game' does.

This is why ED sucks.

In the original Elite it could take a very long time to get from hyperspace dropout to the space station .. especially if you kept running into trade ships! ..

I missed point? Oh well, if you say I did, then it must be so.

It was fun, and, as I recall, created before the internet was invented - as such I could play it offline :) (had to, if you think about it!)

p.s. you could also fire weapons from the flanks of your ship, and change views to target. If only, David Braben; if only your creative partner were still involved in your crappy vanity galaxy project - it would be 10 X better ..

From what I've been told He Who Must Not Be Named is not as holy as you might think.

I agree with the NPC crewmember being allowed to pilot, I have no doubt we'll see something like this around the time we get the ability to walk around our ship since the general system is already in 2.2 when you're piloting a fighter or vice versa.

Except in the case of the instant transfer poll, FDev sent an email regarding the poll to every single registered Elite: Dangerous account and the results were still around 70% no and 30% yes.

So there goes that hypothesis...

If they cant be bother to be on the forum what makes you think they voted. People wont even vote for their elected officials so why do you think they will vote in a video game.

there are 800,000 steam owners alone. So unless you get just 500k of those and a good popultion of xbox and FDEV site owners voting, then you will never have a real poll. Heck most states would be lucky to get 500 thousand votes in total.

+1 Hahaahaha, take a number in the line! have several friends asking for my account and mills when this happens :)

I think that says something
/off topic

Voted no. Personally I think there is a case for a programmable (fly-by-digital) in-system autopilot .. but am not a voter for an interstellar one.

Do you mean Braben?

His youtube posts are amateur science lessons, and he has as much concept of fun as Theresa May's slippers. I assume you mean Braben.

If you mean that people are too lazy to be bored, you are right. Think about it.

Not Braben ... the other chap you mentioned.

Yes let's do it. Id like to see it as a module you buy and install akin to the docking computer. Simultaneously I'd like to see the removal of *all* auto-pilot-like functions from the base ship functionality and moved to the piloting computer module. (I.E. You can't dismiss/call your ship from the SRV unless you have a piloting/docking computer installed).

Good point! who is piloting the ship when you dismiss/recall it? in this case is Ok for the NO guys isn't it? This option should be part of the AUTOPILOT COMPUTER MODULE! +20!
