Predicting the remaining dlc content

But they all took their speedbuilds low view rate as a "proof" that "PZ will be dead soon, look at MY low view counts!", while the Steam charts were telling us a whole different story.
This. So much this. Or the constant complaining...
Though, to be fair, it gets never boring to me to watch speedbuilds.

I still try t support those that are close to my heart whenever I can, as I like a lot of them as persons/peoples/human beings. But when you actually try to open a different perspective for them for month and all you get back is again a "PZ is dead", then every interaction feels like a one way road, to be honest and it saddens me and I kinda grow out of it. Guess most of them didn't even realize I (very very active in the past) am a rare sight now. But I really really began to ask myself what other "proof" we have for a low life span of Planet Zoo, besides CCs talking and "but Planet Coaster"... and it's nothing really.

On the other hand, I find @Tobs and @NZFanatic arguments way more logical. Especially now that Frontier updated their enginge for Planet Zoo. There is absolutely no reason to not build longer on their updated engine. Planet Coaster didn't have that happen, if I am correct.

On the other hand, there are also "minor" content creators who are truely passionate about zoos and have actually created a channel specifically for PZ and it's kept growing and growing. It's these people who'll help keep the game alive and it's these people that Frontier should mostly focus on from now.
The game to this date keeps being virtually limitless (from a content POV, at least), and PZ nerds like these content creators and most of us in the forum/reddit/discord are constantly requesting more features, animals and pieces.
I think all of these people requesting more and more should make a point for Frontier. Given the nature of PZ itself (not being a shooter, rpg, strategy game etc.) I don't see why they should stop providing content as long as it is profitable.
I don't think the engine getting outdated could be a problem here, basically because they're actually updating their own engine for PZ as we speak, and the graphics, wheather dynamics, etc. are not far behind the current best simulation or strategy titles.
YES! A shíft in their influencer marketing would actually be quite nice. And a shift in my own watching routine as well, to be honest. ;)

I have respect for the building abilities of lots of content creators but on the whole I am not interested in what they do. They aren't generally zoo people and this shows. There's nothing wrong with that, we just have very different views of what constitutes realistic for example.

It's good to get help with a technical question at times but I don't really take inspiration from them at all.

agreed, most my inspiration comes from real zoos that ive seen or have been to. Their builds might look cool, but that doesnt mean that i want to do exactly that.
Mostly im just waiting for some more animals and pieces to rebuild atleast in spirit my favourite zoo (zoom zoo gelsenkirchen) and my childhood zoo (mönchengladbacher zoo odenburg), that was rather crappy and small but still a great place to go to for me and one of the first places i was allowed to explore alone.
Most of their zoos are more in line with stuff like paridaiza, but thats personally not my cup of tea, even though it looks great!

The thing with some of the content creators (who I respect and whose content I enjoy) is that they come from Planco.

In general, people who like themepark simulators also like zoo simulators, but sometimes, the extent to which they enjoy each game is quite different. I won't give names here but some content creators simply got burnt out pretty soon because they had already been building and creating content extensively for 3-4 years in Planco, or simply because as people grow up we tend to play less and less. Hell, one of the major Planco content creators pretty much abandoned PZ after just ~2 months.

But this shows that Planet Zoo is a very different world. I think I know who you mean, and clearly that cc realised that "building zoos is NOT the same as building theme parks" and decided to not make content (full respecto to that cc, who only produces content she/he enjoys).

There are a few others that have left the ship too, due to the same/similar reasons. Zoo design and building is not the same as theme parks. In fact, there are no common guidelines to zoo designs, unlike for Theme Parks (which follow more or less "standard" designs). Plus we are talking about animals and not rides.

I know what you mean. I found their "the end is near" attitude kind of annoying, even though I generally enjoy watching their videos, about that time I mostly stopped.

Also, I like to take inspiration from them as they are very talented builders, but you can only watch so many videos without it being repetitive. Usually photos are enough for me to look at, dont need to see a whole 30minute video of speedbuilds. I would rather watching them actually play franchise or challenge, manage the zoos, look at some cute animals from time to time, you know, some gameplay. But they all took their speedbuilds low view rate as a "proof" that "PZ will be dead soon, look at MY low view counts!", while the Steam charts were telling us a whole different story.

Yes, exactly! I love when content creators play franchise/challenge mode. I do enjoy their speed builds (although lately, I find myself just skimming through them quickly), and I already know they can make fantastic creations, but it's the franchise/challenge playthroughs that I enjoy the most. Though I have to say, sometimes their franchise/challenge playthroughs feel rushed, and they don't seem as dedicated to them as their sandbox builds. Regarding the views, it's funny. Just because you're putting out PZ content doesn't mean it's quality content.

There was a video of CC creators chatting about the game and whatnot, and there were a few remarks about the official forums and that didn't sit well with me. I respect and enjoy their content, but that wasn't right. Sure, the "20 of us" don't represent the whole community, but we're here because we love the game, we love this community, and we know Frontier checks the forums (probably much more than any other social media, and you can be sure they don't watch every single PZ video on Youtube). We're here to help, give feedback, and chat about something we like. They were talking about the community that they are part of, and they were talking about their viewers. I don't know why so many community members dislike the forums which is funny because we are also the same community on Reddit, Discord, Youtube...

I think I know exactly who you're talking about. They admitted they got burned which I respect, but they were one of my favorites. I remember watching them all the time through beta.

I agree about other smaller creators. I am subbed to quite a few of them and I enjoy their content a lot.

Sorry, dang forum didn't let me in the writing section..

Anyway, I couldn't be there live but wanted to rewatch, as I enjoy their talks, but someone on the forums "warned" me about it (thank you, you know who you are), because it would just anger me. A LOT. It really does. So I guess one of the "20 forum users" left the chat now, because she feels disrespected....

I watched (listened to) it as well. It made me angry. This was SO disrespectful and a lot of nonsense.

Now I wonder what video it was.

I also noticed something similar within the modding community. I love our fellow modders, but the modding discord is often so toxic, be it to Frontier or to fellow community members (but to be honest, mostly its not the modders, but other people on that discord). I witnessed mocking of people and sharing threads on this forum with "funny" comments. Did not like this. Cmon now, we are the same community.

I was hesitant to write this because I know the community loves them, but I am glad I wasn't the only one feeling disrespected. I mean...if you truly appreciate your viewers you don't talk like that about them.

It honestly is. I don't post, but I am a part of it so I know exactly what you are talking about. Also making fun of comments on Nexus and I've also seen some very mean, derogatory comments. It's just not right, and it's creating unnecessary toxicity and division in the community.

Modding community is very interesting. Some of them are great, but others, their attitude towards the PZ general community is just disgraceful. I still remember when some modders blamed an active forum member for opening THE leak thread (when the "news" were already everywhere ) - this was so disrespectful, and ever since, the modder community has been very low on my "respect list" (only me cares about this list, since it's MY LIST :) ).

This doesn't mean I don't appreciate and respect what some of the work modders do. Some artistic and modelling work is absolutely fantastic (genuinely, some mods look marvellous).

For me, being kind, respectful and honest to your community, the people you care about and the people who support you is a key aspect. I am not a content creator, I will probably never be a great builder. I'm just a person who likes to support and lift up kind people whenever she can. I see that as an important aspect in the community,
I don't expect much in return. Just respect and maybe a like here and there when I show builds or constructive critisism (very much appreciated!)

If I'm just "one of the weird guys" that uses a forum, shares an opinion or whatever I don't feel like supporting much anymore. In general people who make fun of others in public. Not my definition of being a responsible human being.

The key point IS that IF birds are actually coming, with Frontier investing a lot of resources to develop that, surely the company wants to capitalise on that?

From a strategy POV, there's no point in releasing a FULL new MECHANIC (i.e. flying) and not capitalise on it and just say "folks, that's it" - Flying Birds will be an ASSETT for Planet Zoo and Frontier will 100% capitalise on it.

Even though there are many content creators that are eager to see PZ dying (remember, some of them were killing it already this summer), I'm more and more convinced PZ will have a long life. The amount of DLCs they can release is practically limitless, especially if we get flying birds.

I can't even begin to tell you how much joy this brought me when I read it! I fully understand that it's just a theory, but it's one that makes sense to me AND brings me a lot of hope. Thank you!
