Private Party Launch Day Group

I Agree about you taking the fight to them, but, there is a lot of people, including me who will be playing for the first time, so I'm not to sure we be any good in relation to an expierenced group hell bent on destruction, I know safety in numbers an all that but at the same time........

I get what you mean, and it will also be my first time too, but since I am grabbing the game tomorrow night I will have atleast 3 hours tomorrow night of practice. So If I see any of them doing that Tuesday evening against new players then new or not I'm still going at them.

Well, for many of us it's our first time. We're all "Virgins".
So... Why don't we come up with a cool name like... Virgin Galactic?

Oh, nevermind... [haha]

It might not be necessary, as until you make your first hyperspace jump you are effectively in Solo anyway

I'm not volunteering to set anything up, because I don't know enough about the "how" to set it up.

As I think this through, perhaps all of us interested in the idea should join the existing group Mobius for launch. As long as we're all part of the same group, we should still be able to interact with each other if we are on at the same time, especially if we're all friends on PSN.

For those that don't know, Mobius is a very well known PVE group. This means you agree not to fire on other human players in that group. They should be big enough on PS4 to make things interesting, yet small enough to allow a "less crowded" start than playing in Open.

So, since I am clueless about the mechanics, how do I join Mobius? I joined their community, but how will I join their group when the day comes?

ps - I've taken forever to type this, so I'm probably ninja food by now [haha]

Open for me.

I can also understand your stance.
You want to play on an open enviroment, besides, if they screw you, you can always get a new sidewinder for free.
And, while at it, you fly into a different star system, prolly 4 or 5 jumps away, as fast as you can.

so is all this palava and BULL just going to be a problem if you stay in the opening system? my only intention always was to go to a system possibly a 50/100 ly away and mine some NPC bounty targets at a high risk resource zone.

So I don't have to worry about this greving group then?

Open for me.

I'll be switching to open very soon, perhaps even on day one. Then again, I might wait until after I try my hand at this week's CG... The irony is that once we head out from our starting system, the odds of running into each other are inverse square times the other variables (instancing, playing at the same time, etc). I might not "meet" you until the reunion!

They implied that they'll stay in the starter and surrounding systems

Unfortunately, there's a few flaws with your plan (If you're planning on playing in Open Play).
Where's an High Risk Zone, there will probably be plenty of human players, looking for the same thing you are and some will not be very friendly.
Besides, you can't just fly into one of those zones right away on a Sidewinder, you would become cannon fodder, not to mention that fact that you will not have a FSD that allows you to do that, right from the start. You'll have to work for it. :x

You don't need any upgrades to go High RES farming, just caution. It might take a few jumps and a refuelling stop, but just fly to a system with High security, dock at a station then fly out to the High RES

Then stay near the security ships, watch what they shoot and keep them in your sights (to auto scan) and if they are wanted, get a few shots in when their Sheilds are down then bang all pips to ENG and boost away

Rinse and repeat and after you earn a fair amount, bug out and cash them in at the station

The problem with that is your combat rating will go up very early and you may get more interdiction as a consequence. Suppose it depends on your future gameplay style.

Should I be worried as a trader? Type 9s should attract alot of pirates(npcs and players)
