Private Party Launch Day Group

Unfortunately, there's a few flaws with your plan (If you're planning on playing in Open Play).
Where's an High Risk Zone, there will probably be plenty of human players, looking for the same thing you are and some will not be very friendly.
Besides, you can't just fly into one of those zones right away on a Sidewinder, you would become cannon fodder, not to mention that fact that you will not have a FSD that allows you to do that, right from the start. You'll have to work for it. :x

Bro, that's not true, iv watched about 2/3 different videos now where they have done it right from the start of creating an account. You have to wait until the feds turn on the NPCS then you take a couple of pot shots with your sidey and you get the bounty. because your just in a sidey means the npcs just ignore you

That's why I'm flying at least 50/100ly away so I do not see humans, I have a galaxy map strategy that will hopefully ensure this..............I know what way most people will fly

I did start this by saying, "I'm debating [back and forth]." I'm modifying my idea / suggestion to this: if you're thinking about starting out in Solo, consider starting out in the Mobius private group instead. This PVE group should protect us from griefing and "traffic jams" while allowing us to potentially meet at least some of the others in the forum.

If anyone from Mobius can comment on how we can join your group on launch day, it would be greatly appreciated.

Sidewinder is a FREE ship I will play more in solo when I have a ship i invested a million credits into. Thats when it hurts to get shot down!! When you have to pay to replace your ship with your own hard earned credits! Open play for me in a sidewinder..

Should I be worried as a trader? Type 9s should attract alot of pirates(npcs and players)

Well. When I started last April and finished getting used to the controllers, I did the method outlined above. Then I started trading. I was driven insane with interdictions when I just wanted to trade, then mine. However, it's much easier now to fight interdictions and the interdictions have been toned down. I restarted an account in May this year, and made money a different route. Much more pleasant. So based on that, if your future career is trading I'd recommend doing some exploring to get you enough cash for a T6. You can get some really good courier and delivery missions early on - if you do, cash in. Always check you can get there in your E drive before accepting anything, as your E drive is very limited in range.

Mobius - in the past you ask to join on groups, then you wait a couple of days to get accepted. My advice is to have a private group good to go, just in case.

That should have combined with the post above, sorry for cluttering.

First a little bit training in solo never harms the brains to learn the ropes of space and beyond .
I have no idea how much time this will take , but from the moment I feel I can fly ( and know which direction I want to go ) , dock , scoop ,understanding of the control mechanism of the ship and run a way from idiots who want to shoot me than I'm of in open space where the stars shines and are waiting for exploration .

Can you restart accounts on the PS4? If you can, so what if you get wiped out in Open? Often a good.clean restart is healthy after a learning experience or 10.

Ahhhh, very good to know! I'll look into this on the PS4 community.

Being interdicted as I have been informed is just part of the game, being interdicted several times or by the same person (griefer) is also apparently just part of the game. Neither of which in this day and age do I have any contention with. One must adapt to the new and let go of the old, I get that. But the willful destruction of ones ship for no other reason but they can is phychotic. And though FDve apparently has a problem which they apparently can control, such as UA (cheating), combat logging (cheating), then why allow phychotics. Oh, I forgot, it's part of the game, it the spirt of the game, like it or leave. It's no wonder that there are SO MANY players in solo mode. There's no phychotics there. Only real game play as designed.

Question to anyone whom may have the answer. What can't I do in solo that isn't in open. Except get greifed by another human player. From what I understand is, I'll play in the same galaxie, and have all the same things to do and see as one in open mode. Where's the incentive to play in open?

People can role play commanders with issues. Some might say for some commanders it comes naturally.

Working as intended.

Ever heard of role play?

Oink oink.

As far as i know, you just can't play on a multiplayer enviroment and with friends (in a squad).
You can still do pretty much everything else, including Community Goals.

You don't need any upgrades to go High RES farming, just caution. It might take a few jumps and a refuelling stop, but just fly to a system with High security, dock at a station then fly out to the High RES

Then stay near the security ships, watch what they shoot and keep them in your sights (to auto scan) and if they are wanted, get a few shots in when their Sheilds are down then bang all pips to ENG and boost away

Rinse and repeat and after you earn a fair amount, bug out and cash them in at the station

I had the impression you needed an upgraded FSD to be able to make those longer jumps to other star systems.
My bad! ;)

EXACTLY what I was looking for - thank you!

Okay, I just filled out the form. As SpaceBacon says, I don't know if Mobius is going to be a launch day option.. I guess time will tell. So unless someone like CMDR Labrunning decides to create a private group for us in this forum, I guess I'm back to choosing between Solo and Open :S

Ok time to weigh in. Starting a private group is as easy as pressing a button. But you have to invite your friends to join. Hopefully this will be reasonably simple on the ps4 thanks to friends lists. I am going to start my private group on day one ASAP. In theory it's for Misfits training but any friend can use it if they want. The group name will be my psn Snowbeard62 for easy identification. I will only accept requests from the MSR and people from the forum I trust not to be a greebo

That's the other variable I was mulling in my mind - what if there are already a number of small groups forming? Each group is its own "pocket galaxy" in a sense, so as we subdivide our community, our individual groups shrink in size.. That's why I recommended a big, established group like Mobius. I just don't know if that will be an option on launch day.

BTW, this is not a criticism of your group in any way. It's just another variable for me to add the my own equation of choosing between "Open, Group, Solo", and if a group, which one? I definitely think I'll pick a group, any group, over solo. With that in mind, the Old Duck is a friend of the MSR and has even offered assistance to MSR in the past, so I might be knocking on your group's door on launch day if all else fails!
