Still don't get why some folks can't accept a bit of handwaving about the DSS passively collecting the trace gas and dust to make the probes. Whatever. I guess some folks just want to make ever more levels of in-game grind? Deeper and deeper the rabbit holes go for them.
I guess they want to forget ED is a game. Maybe they don't enjoy a game unless it's a second or third or fourth job? Maybe games aren't meant to be enjoyable?
I'll put this in a different way: why even having to launch several probes to map an entire planet?
As of now, with infiinite probes, failing to map any planet is 100% impossible, and there is little to no difference between being able to map the whole planet with 3 probes, or with 38 probes. So why not have simply firing a single probe and let it map the whole planet, or use some scanner pulse or something instead of probes?
As it stands, there is little to no point for the probe launching minigame, which has already been nerfed into a gimmick even before it was released, and all the effort creating the probe launching system, with considerations to gravity, speed, hit angle, etc, is kind of wasted.
That being said, between infinite probes, and the original 200 probes, I'll take the infinite probes.
