I don't care it's also a game, stupid grind should be removed.
I agree. OP was sarcastic in nature. If I were serious I would have written an open letter.

And with the same tone back at you you must really think little if FDs ability if you do not think they have the ability to allow 1.x players to collect the specific gear needed to build probes?Someone else who doesn’t understand that synthesis of any kind is not possible for non-Horizons players. Seems like over half the folks proposing an ammo limit miss this.

An alternate idea to make everyone happy?
Original DSS can stock 1000 probes synthesizable with common materials.
Not happy with that? Go to Felicity Farseer to engineer your DSS and she (he?) will modify your DSS to add an automatic probes synthesizer so you always have infinite probes.
This is the best solution in my opinion. Addresses the horizon / non horizon issue while also providing players with both infinite and limited probe options. It's ideal and covers all the concerns, everyone is happy.
*Shots fired*
infinite shots fired
....ps - I have no doubt Frontier did this because of non-Horizon owners not being able to gather materials. Personally I think they now have a problem of justifying limited prospector limpets (weighing in at 1 ton each), which do way less than these planetary probes, but whatever..
Yeah, it isn't realistic at all. It would have been far more realistic to have us drive around and shoot rocks to collect hundreds of materials that have no mass, and then stuff them into our magic space pockets so we could create things with mass out of them later.
Wait a sec...
Why is everyone bothered with the impact on Non-Horizons players?
so infinite probes isn't such a leap in comparison.

Fair point. I don't like magic pockets either but that ship has sailed. I am Hoping this one is still in port (like magic ship transfer which got improved at the 11th he)
TBH I don't care about the lore explanation, I care more about the gameplay and having unlimited probes removes the challenge from the mapping mini-game. Everyone will literally start bombing planets with probes.
